Great experience in a beautiful historical city. - The tour was fantastic and well-planned. We went on a group tour but it felt like a private tour because of the attention and focus from our guide Sevinch. She did a great job highlighting the history of Samarkand and assisting us throughout the tour.

A fun visit to Samarkand! - Our escort in Tashkent from GOTOUZBEKISTAN, Ali was very helpful in guiding us to the station for our trip to Samarkand. We were greeted by our tour guide Ms. Gul who explained the historical significance of all the sites very well. We highly appreciate their guidance and recommend them to anyone visiting Uzbekistan.

SAMARKAND - BEST TOUR OF UZBEKISTAN - NOT TO BE MISSED - Ismail from the tour company, picks you up from the hotel Lobby, take you to the Tashkent station until your train seat and then comes back in the evening to pick you and drop you back in your hotel. Samarkand's rich history, culture and food and above all being the world famous learning centre in the 15th century with its Madarasah's (universities) is captivated well and explained in detail by one of the best guides you would have ever experienced in Mohigul ( shortly called GUL). She is a University Professor who receives you at the exit point of the Samarkand station and drops you back in the station, all along she is with you taking you to the sights, lunch, market , shopping , but her wealth of knowledge on Samarkand and its history is outstanding. A very friendly guide, she can also take good photos. Very lucky to have her guide us. The Shashlik Kebab for lunch is the best i have ever eaten. Again, GOTOUZBEKISTAN is a very professional tour company. The Fast train is excellent with free tea and snacks as well as other food and beverage sold onboard. Overall an amazing trip from Tashkent to Samarkand and back in a day. Ismail from the tour company communicates promptly on whatsapp all about your tour. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE DAY TOUR!

Not the best! - I had booked two private tours with Booking.com and Viator for Samarqand and Bukhara respectively. Both landed with GotoUzbekistan, local agency (their network partner locally in the market). The guides in both the locations as well as the drivers who came to drive us to and fro to the train station were fantastic. I’ll rate them 5 on 5. However, the main company GotoUzbekistan is bad. They change things last minute, communication is not consistent and overall it was frustrating dealing with them. The only good thing they have done is hire good people on-ground who are actually delivering the service. Not sure how are the other operators in the market, but if you are going ahead with these guys, be sure that you know the exact itinerary they have planned for you. To give you an understanding – they swapped the days for Samarqand and Bukhara for us, did not book us a return air ticket from Bukhara and put us on a fast train citing the reason of ticket unavailability – this is when we had made advanced booking, overall planning was below par.
