Famously filmed in a 1970s Bacardi advertisement, Cayo Levantado or Bacardi Island is a scenic islet situated just five kilometers (or three miles) from Samaná Bay. It is noted for its pristine white sand and palm-lined shores. This miniature paradise can be accessed via routine boat taxis sailing from the Samaná port via Avenida Marina. Visitors flock to Cayo Levantado daily to bask in the sun, have a swim and savour delightful Dominican cuisine for lunch.

Friendly, responsive, knowledgeable tour company. Beautiful tour - We had a fabulous experience with Mama Juana. And I highly recommend contacting them for your tour preferences..I felt valued from the time of inquiry and working with Gelison Rufino..to get our trip booked and paid for. He was very professional, helpful and patient. our driver Alex made all aspects of our day special...he made our long drives enjoyable by sharing history and information about the regions we drove through, he made sure all our needs were mer and guided us to each part of our tour. He added a bonus walk in when we arrived early to our destination. His kind fun loving attitude made our day special. Mama Juana tours excels in customer service. Beautiful location and history.

Bacardi island a setting from the movies - Amazing day with Ricardo. Whale watching was really memorable and Bacardi island stunning. This is a must destination if visiting the Dominican Republic. A long yet memorable day.
