The fortress is located in the old town (pedestrian area). Go to the funicular station (Festungsgasse 4) & present your voucher there to get a free ride from 30 min. before dinner start. By car use the car park at Hildmannplatz 1, Entry (Einfahrt)B, follow the sign Festung/Dom, walking time 10 min.

Amazing concert in a magical setting - Setting in the fortress was magical. The food was good. The string quartet was amazing. They played in the ballroom which was fantastic.

Amazing views, food, and music - absolutely worth doing! - Excellent dinner, astonishing views, and outstandingly high calibre musicians. I had feared this might be a little "cheesy" but it was a very classy evening-so glad we booked this experience!

Well worth it - Really enjoyed this. Had the dinner (not VIP option) with fantastic views even from inside restaurant - which was friendly and relaxing, though food not a culinary ‘wow’. You pay for drinks but they were not extortionate just restaurant prices. Short walk or lift up to castle hall for concert (a programme was only 1 euro and you could buy drinks to take in, but there is an interval. The quartet we had looked like they were enjoying themselves and played Mozart but also some familiar pieces by other composers. Great performance. Got the lift thing up and down in ticket ( ride only takes one minute so only short wait for it to come again). It’s not an easy walk up there so funicular is sensible choice. All done by 9.30pm-ish. Did castle visit next day as that’s a few hours to wander round and see all the stuff. Would really recommend the recital as very professional and relaxing.

Highly worth while! Loved it - A wonderful experience enjoyed by all. The restaurant staff made our night- I’d let them know it was my parents 50th wedding anniversary months before when I made the booking, and they surprised us with beautiful, delicious cake and well wishes for another 50 years together- just heart warming. The views are unreal, the fortress impressive, the concert incredible. Would highly recommend!

Great Night Out. - On the whole this was good value for a memorable night out with a bit of everything. Up to amazing views by funicular railway. Then a good (but not fantastic meal). One gripe was that they only sold water and would not serve a carafe to go with the meal. Ability to look round the castle and then listen to a wonderful concert. Topped at the end by night time views over Salzburg. We would recommend this evening. However not good for folk that have accessibility issues as there are stairs to consider.

Beautiful view and music - We enjoyed this! It was a little less intimate than I was hoping because it’s definitely a tourist event, but the music was outstanding. The funicular was easy to find, they accommodated our gluten free diets, and the food was overall very good. The view up there is also fabulous! And the room the concert was in was beautiful. We do recommend it!
