Learn about Afro Brazilian Culture - Great place to learn more about Afro Brazilian history & culture. I recommend getting a guide. Also there are two Afro Brazilian musuems. The other one is closed.

Great time with Wilson! - Wilson was an excellent tour guide. He was so passionate and knowledgeable. We absolutely loved our time with him. We even ran into a couple of his family members on the tour, and someone he tutored, which made the tour even more fun and exciting. Wilson is the best.

Wonderful time visiting Salvador de Bahia - Stepping into that church will always stay on my mind forever! Also listening to the guide describing the story of the religious statues in the lake moved me. I will definitely come back for a longer visit.

Fascinating Salvador Tour - Truly incredible tour. The tour guide knew so much and was able to answer all my questions. I liked that I got to see a lot of sights and learn a lot of interesting history in a short amount of time.

Great experience and super informative! - This tour was fantastic! Our guide was so knowledgeable and had so much insight to share, including his own personal stories and experiences. We got to see several parts of the city and learn about the history in ways we never could have by just reading about it. The rain and the museum being closed threw a few kinks in the plan, but those were obviously beyond his control and he was able to adjust and take us to a market instead which was super interesting. Highly recommend!

THIS TOUR COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER! - On our 1st day in Salvador (10/05), our amazing guide, Vagner, met us at the door of our Air BNB to start us off. We thought the tour was not going to be as good due to the Afro-Brazilian Museum being closed on the day of our tour. Vagner immediately suggested that we tour Feira de Sao Joaquim (Salvador Local Market). Little did we know, the conversations had at the market would connect with us in a huge way. We learned so many similarities between the Afro-Brazilian culture and Southeastern African American culture. However, it didn't stop there. Vagner's historical knowledge is expansive and the way he engages tourists is greatly appreciated. Vagner did an amazing job of informing us of how to engage with locals as well as foods and restaurants we should try during our stay in Salvador. He made sure we saw the best sights all while keeping us on schedule. Our tour lasted for hours and it seemed more like minutes. I wish our tour went even longer. Thanks to Vagner for being an amazing tour guide.

Highlight of our trip - Vagner was the best tour guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable! I had a million questions and he had the answers to all of them. The history of Salvador is interesting and complex and this tour really made us appreciate this city even more than before. We went to three museums, saw all the important monuments and sites. This tour is an absolute must!

Absolute BEST tour i've ever been on! - My husband, myself, and one of my best friends did this private tour guided by Vagner. We also did the Pelhourino at night tour with him as well. We could not have imagined this tour would be this amazing. Vagner was an amazing guide, super knowledgeable, spoke perfect English, and yet customized our tour as needed to fit our wants and needs. Vagner was a wealth of knowledge at every stop and was so kind and helpful. If you come to Salvador, you cannot leave without this tour. In fact, i recommend it be done early in your trip as you will know some great spots to visit more on your own after. We are so grateful to have seen and learned so much during our short time in Salvador. Thank you Vagner you are the BEST! Also, a tip: the streets of Pelhourino are cobble stone and there are quite steep hills at times. Wear proper shoes. If sandals, not flip flops.

Would not recommend- Mis-sold tour - Be weary booking this tour- I would not recommend it. I booked this tour thinking I would go to the Afro museum and Benin museum (the museums were the only reason I booked this experience). The Afro museum has been closed for months now and the tour agency knew this- they waited until I got into the car on the day of the tour (and could no longer cancel) to tell me this and ‘substituted’ it with a trip to a market I did not want to go to and did need to go to. The Benin museum was also closed and they should have checked this before the tour commenced. Bearing in mind I paid £120 for this tour and got nothing out of it. I was conversing with the agency days before this was supposed to take place and they had ample opportunities to let me know the museum was closed so I could cancel and get a refund. At the same time as booking this tour I booked another to see the upper and lower city so everything I saw during the Afro tour was what I saw the next day during my city tour. I reached out to the agency and requested a 50% refund (as I had a guide and driver and knew they had to be paid) and they in no uncertain terms told me I would not be getting one. I have now passed this onto Viator who I hope will refund me as the tour was a complete rip off and was mis-sold. In addition I did not get to go to Elevator Lacerda or Mercado Modelo.
