Salt Lake City - Grand Teton National Park - Yellowstone National Park
Salt Lake City - Welcome to Salt Lake City! Today, we will embark on our journey and drive to Great Salt Lake Marina, known as America’s “Dead Sea.” Great Salt Lake is the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere and the fourth-largest terminal lake in the world, providing habitat for millions of native birds, brine shrimp, shorebirds, and waterfowl. We will then drive through Idaho and Wyoming, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the US Midwest until we arrive in Jackson! Be sure to visit the Elk Antler Arches Square in the center of Jackson! Next, we will explore Grand Teton National Park in the afternoon and then the world’s first National Park – Yellowstone!
Itinerary:
Salt Lake City → Great Salt Lake (20 mins) → Jackson → Elk Antler Arches Park (60 mins) → Grand Teton National Park (60 mins) → Yellowstone National Park → West Yellowstone
Great Salt Lake - Great Salt Lake, located in northern Utah, U.S., is the largest inland body of salt water in the Western Hemisphere and one of the most saline inland bodies of water in the world. The lake is fed by the Bear, Weber, and Jordan rivers and has no outlet. The lake’s size fluctuates greatly depending on evaporation rates and river flow. Like the Dead Sea, Great Salt Lake exists in an arid environment and has chemical characteristics similar to the oceans but with much greater salinity due to natural evaporation exceeding the water supply from the rivers.
Jackson Hole’s Elk Antler Arch - Elk Antler Arches Park features four arches made from thousands of elk antlers, making it a unique and amazing place to discover, filled with unforgettable memories.
Grand Teton National Park - Located in the Rocky Mountains of Northwest Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park is noted for its stunning mountain vistas and shimmering alpine lakes. It is also home to a variety of abundant wildlife.
