Great history walk - Very informative walk around Salida. Interesting stories. Definitely for entertainment and not a Ghost hunt (which it was clearly stated in the information while booking).

Great Experience - Guide was great. Very knowledgeable about the area. Even had a paranormal sighting/communication. Salida is a cool little town to tour with a dark history, which made for a great experience.

History, Stories, & Steve - During our visit to Salida, we booked both the history walking tour and the haunted pub crawl, and it turned out to be an absolute highlight of trip. Our guide, Steve, was not only incredibly informative but also adept at drawing our attention to the small details and remnants of Salida’s rich past. As we strolled through the streets, faded advertisements on building walls, spikes on handrails, and intricate tin roof designs suddenly transformed into windows into history. Steve’s passion for storytelling and bringing history to life, truly shines. He skillfully guides you through Salida’s evolution from its at times lawless, and wild beginnings to the town it is today. With a penchant for illuminating the back alleys and hidden corners of history, he reveals the very roads where outlaws once roamed and madams discreetly cared for their communities beyond the confines of their brothel walls. Our first tour left us thoroughly impressed, prompting us to sign up for the haunted pub crawl. With Steve guiding us, the dimly lit streets came alive with tales from the past. He pointed out locations with sordid and dark histories and, regaling us with stories of paranormal encounters that locals had experienced. At some of our stops, locals shared their eerie accounts—strange sounds and “interactions” with past Salida residents. These tours offer more than historical insights. Through Steve, we also gained a deeper understanding of contemporary Salida. His passion extends beyond facts and past dates; he brings the town’s present-day spirit to life. We wholeheartedly recommend these tours—not only for the captivating content but also for the privilege of meeting and conversing with Steve. Ghost Tour - Booked a private tour with 2 adults and 4 teenagers. That right there is risky...but we all had a good time! Thanks Steve for all the history and ghost stories!

More goes on in Salida than meets the eye! - DJ was a great story teller and full of interesting historical tidbits you may not find just anywhere about Salida. It was a brisk night for a walk but it was a thoroughly entertaining hour and a half and ended too soon. Thank you for a great evening!

Perfect ending to our honeymoon! - Just got married and spent our honeymoon out here at Mount Princeton. Found that there was a ghost tour and decided on trying it before we ended our week here. We ended up being the only ones for it so it became the ideal private tour for us to enjoy some spooks. We had DJ as our guide and she lives up to her reputation as you see in these other reviews as she’s the perfect storyteller! Only downside which has nothing to do with the tour was we tried to grab a bite at the Mexican restaurant that sits within the most haunted building but they closed up early lol. Me and the wife greatly appreciate you DJ for coming out and taking us on a fun chilly night stroll through the town as we will never forget this 😌.

Very entertaining evening! - DJ did an outstanding job walking us through the sordid past of Salida! We had a great time, and I’m really intrigued to get dinner at that Mexican restaurant!

Learned a lot of fun... - Learned a lot of fun facts and heard some good stories. Others canceled and we had a private tour. Steve did not cut anything out and probably added more. Great time.

Great Tour - The stories were interesting. Steve has a broad knowledge of Salida and the old buildings around the downtown area. I recommend this tour.

Interesting and entertaining evening - Very enjoyable evening despite the rain-the thunder and lightning kinda added to the aura of the haunted tour Steve told us lots of interesting stories and history of Salida Unfortunately we did not see any sightings of ghost behavior Would have been nice to go inside some of the places, an info sheet would have been nice to follow-up on our evening Our tour was cut a little short due to the weather but Steve did a good job of keeping us out of the rain and keeping us dry Would like to purchase some of Steve's books but have not been able to find any on-line We left the next day so did not have a chance to go back to the bookstore where we saw them
