Disappointing experience - Wish we had a long-standing local to provide this tour. Our guide was a student who didn’t know many rich details about the landmarks he brought us to. He wasn’t from Salerno/Italy, and was a student living there for 2 years. It didn’t seem as though he was very interested in the places he took us to. Our guide walked REALLY fast and would only state simple facts that could easily be looked up. (Ex. That castle is named “x” and was built in the “y” century.) given the pace of this private tour, my husband kept turning around to see me trying to keep up and repeatedly checked on me. Not sure if the guide would have noticed if my husband hadn’t been paying attention to how I was doing. (Of note, I’m in my 30s, work out multiple days a week, and cycled 100miles in one day just a few weeks ago, so it’s not like I’m out of shape. I think many folks would have a hard time keeping up with our guides’ pace.) I found it odd that our guide only seemed to speak to my husband and not me. As a result, I didn’t hear/learn much on this tour. The guide would speak to me, but only if I addressed him first. My husband agreed that there wasn’t much rich information learned on this tour and the pace was far too quick. Not sure if he was rushing because we booked the 2 hour tour? Of all the things I’ve mentioned in this review, I don’t think there were I’ll intentions from the guide, but more so lack of experience/awareness providing quality tours and knowing what people hope to learn.
