Additional Information

A first of its kind tour of Salem! Start by joining us for an hour long walking tour through Salem’s varied history. Learn about the infamous Witchcraft Trials of 1692, Crime and Punishment, our part in the beginnings of the Revolutionary War, and Murder and Betrayal among Salem’s elite. Then board our chartered vessel, “The Naumkeag” provided by Essex Heritage, for a unique view of Salem’s harborfront by sea, and hear stories from Salem’s Golden Age of Sail, including our famous Nathaniels; Hawthorne and Bowditch, who revolutionized literature and navigation, and how Salem was connected to the first and last Captains hanged for Piracy in America!

If bad weather prevents us from doing the harbor tour, we will adjust the tour to a two hour walking tour and provide a partial refund, or guests may choose to reschedule.

Amazing - Daniel was amazing. Super knowledgeable. The tour had to start late due to technical issues with the boat but they contacted us right in the morning and gave us options to making it work.

Raining but not Rained out! - Even though it was raining we hit the road with our tour guide Daniel. We enjoyed hearing the ‘real’ story of Salem from our local guide. It’s not all about witches, and Daniel filled us in on not only the witch history but the economic background of the area. We had a great time.

Don't Miss This Tour! - Include this tour in your trip! The information is far beyond the common stories heard on many of the other tours. Our guide, Daniel, was a wealth of knowledge regarding the true history of Salem. He was an outstanding guide! Thank you!

A pleasure! Informative, scenic and we learned a lot! Check it out! - Such a great idea! We had a very informative walking tour through Salem first. Then we boarded a tour boat and went around the pretty harbor. Our entertaining guide Daniel told lots of interesting, historical stories and could answer any question the group raised. We learned a lot. I would highly recommend this unique tour to learn about Salem and it’s fascinating history!

A unique look at Salem! - What a fantastic and unique experience. As always Daniel is a phenominal tour guide. I've had him for the regular Black Cat Ghost tour and he always infuses his stories with enthusiasm and joy for the material. This tour took us to new locations and out to sea, offering an amazing view of Salem bay, and new stories about sea monsters, pirate ships and the history of Salem itself. Absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended!

Disappointed in Salem - Unfortunately the original experience we wanted was changed as the sea portion was cancelled as the boat had mechanical issues so we ended up with only a walking tour. I was very disappointed as the tour did not cover all of the areas of interest in town and the excuse was they are limited by the city. I found this to be an odd reason as I had done a previous tour a few years back and that was not the case- so felt my family was missing a few key highlights of Salem. The tour operator was knowledgeable but very loquacious and droned on a bit vs showing us a lot. We stopped at several spots and he spent 10 min going on and on and my teenage kids got very bored. Honestly felt this guy did not read his audience.
