Salamanca highlights at a great pace - Derek was an excellent guide. It is obvious how much he loves Salamanca as he efficiently guided us to most of the ancient and more recently built structures. The pace was perfect and I would not have changed a thing about the tour. Derek also pointed us to a couple of his favorite restaurants. at our request, as we ended the tour.

Excellent Walking Tour of Salamanca. - Our tour guide Derek arrived promptly at our pre-arranged meeting point outside our hotel. Derek was friendly, approachable and as the tour progressed we realised that he had vast knowledge and expertise in the history of Salamanca. He was open to customising the tour to cover areas which we were particularly interested in, alongside historical points of interest. The history of the city was discussed from the Pre-Roman period to Post Renaissance. Each building was developed in the context of its age, importance, architect and inhabitant alongside interesting facts which related to other buildings. At the end of the tour, we felt inspired to research more into the history of the city. We would whole heartedly recommend this tour and Derek our guide.

A great experience - The tour was really interesting and went to parts of Salamanca that we would not have been to without a guide. The tour guide knew his stuff and his English was very good. We find having a private guide is much better than large groups even though it is a bit more expensive.

A Perfect Introduction to Salamanca - Derek was a great guide We were given a relaxed tour covering all the major sites in the old city. He also provided historical perspective so you got a taste of how Salamanca featured in Spanish history. If you are a first time visitor it’s well worth spending the money on this tour to familiarise your self with this lovely ancient seat of learning.

My feet were a bit tired by the end, but I felt like a real smart bloke knowing all that history - The guide was a local legend who knew every little alleyway and told us all the stories about that massive university and the cathedrals. We saw that Plaza Mayor which is like the fanciest square I ever been in, and they even showed us the house with all the shells stuck on the walls. It wasn't like being in school or nothing, just felt like walking about with a mate who knows where all the good stuff is. They even pointed out where to get some decent ham and a cold beer that didn't cost a limb. If you’re in town and don’t want to just stare at old rocks without knowing what they are, get this booked.

Salamanca in a couple hours - We enjoyed ourselves listening to the history and stories about Salamanca. Deborah did a very nice job taking us around the city and sharing bits of info as we walked. She was very kind, patient and helpful.

Foreign student as a "local guide" - This company does not provide professional tour guides. Reading the details of the content is highly recommended. Our "guide" was a student from the Philippines who had been two years in the country. She kept pointing out buildings and their names, but she wasn't able to provide any additional information about them. So if you are looking for a "normal" tourist guide who knows the history and tells stories. This is not it. In addition to that, the person was not really local.

Not recommended - avoid Lokafy - I do not recommend this provider or this service. We got paired with "a local" but he didn't have any knowledge about the city other than the location of the main sites on Google Maps. He had to use their phone when we asked them questions. He also asked to cut the tour short, which we chose to do because he wasn't making it interesting. I asked for a partial refund which the provider Lokafy refused.
