Full description
Travel through the Qara Mountains, where the beauty of the Dhofar Mountains manifests itself.
Along the way, watch flocks of camels and cattle while admiring the scenic rural beauty of Dhofari.
Visit the tomb of Job, the famous final resting place of the Islamic Prophet, where you will learn about legendary history
of the prophet Job and his piety.
Continue towards Mughsayl, where the white sand touches the deep blue waters of the ocean.
Drive past frankincense trees that grow deep in the valleys in their natural habitat, littering the dry and rugged landscape.
Take in the scent of holy incense and reach the fabulous sandy beach
which has always been shaped by shaped cliffs and holes, water reaches a height of 30 meters or more.
Take in the view from the top of the coast and see how the mountains fall into the water.
Then visit the famous bird sanctuaries Mughsayl.
Then the trip continues towards Taqa in the east of Salalah.
where you will pass the Royal Farm and Maamura House on the way. Visit the village of Taqa,
which is known for its dried sardines and its traditional and old Dhofari houses.
From here you can take a look at the rich history of the region and visit an interesting castle,
which was once the official residence of the governor of the village.
Then you will see the ruins of Sumhurum (Khor Rori) at the easternmost outpost of the Hadramawt kingdom
on the old incense route between the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf and India.
Khor Rori was an important port on the Dhofar coast and one of the major trading cities for the export of frankincense,
which was believed to be the linchpin for incense shipping.
Then drive along the coastal road,
which leads you to the Mirbat, the old town of Arabian horses and the slave trade.
Photostop at the tomb of Bin Ali.
Pass through Mirbat Castle and the old merchant houses and then drive back to Salalah.
On the way back, you will also see the natural spring of Ain Razat, which is located at the foot of the Qara Mountains.
