Great personalized tour! - My wife and I were guests of Normandy American Heroes in October 2023. We had some unique requirements in that we wanted to start in Normandy with the historical tours but wanted to end our tour in Bordeaux where we were meeting friends for a follow-on wine cruise. Rudy put together a great itinerary for my wife and me. Because our tour was both in and out of Normandy, we got to spend it with guide Pierre in Normandy and then with Rudy as we made our way south. Pierre picked us up at CDG and we spent a day visiting La Roche Guyon castle (Rommel’s HQ in Normandy). We then traveled to Gold Beach to see some of the Mulberry harbor remnants. We spent 2 evenings at a nice hotel in Bayeux with extremely friendly hosts. Our 2nd day was spent at Utah and Omaha Beach including a trip to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Our time on both beaches (including Pointe du Hoc) were great. My wife and I are both US Army veterans and I was very familiar with the order of battle. My wife was not as knowledgeable and did not want to learn the specifics. She wanted to hear stories and Pierre did not disappoint. The cemetery tour was scheduled during retreat and hearing TAPS always makes my wife and I tear up. After our Normandy tour was complete Rudy spent the next few days with us as we worked our way down south with stops at Mont Saint Michel (wow!), and Saumur Tank Museum. We made our way to Limoges where we had an opportunity to tour the museum of French Resistance. Our final stop on our trip to Bordeaux was an afternoon in Oradour sur Glane. My wife and I were not familiar with the history of Oradour sur Glane and the martyr town. It was a very gut-wrenching stop, but we were very glad it was included. Afterwards Rudy dropped us off at our hotel in Bordeaux to continue our French adventure. Both Pierre and Rudy were great travel companions and great story tellers. The accommodations and meals were great. They made you feel like friends from the first handshake. If you have an opportunity to travel, we highly recommend Rudy, Pierre, and Normandy American Heroes.

An Incredibly Life Changing experience with Pierre in Normandy - Pierre was truly amazing, both charming, and professional but most of all extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the Normandy experience. Our recent private Normandy tour helped us appreciate what my husbands Father experienced on D-day. Pierre told us stories of the soldiers as well as the civilians caught up in the war. We learned incedible details about the planning and execution of the landing in Normandy as well as the incredible odds our American soldiers faced in a way that has forever changed us. Pierre provided us just the right balance of historical facts, pictures, diagrams, stories, exploration of the country side and plenty of time to process our emotions during our two days together at Omaha and Utah beaches. We highly recommend spending two days with Pierre in Normandy. Craig & Teri

A life-long landmark trip: From Omaha beach to the Eagles Nest - My Dad and I took an incredible custom 14 day tour with Rudy starting in Normandy and ending in Berchtesgaden. The knowledge and storytelling Rudy put on display was something I will never forget, whether it was at the graves of American or German soldiers, in front of seemingly innocuous artifacts, or even in what at first glance seemed to be just empty fields but happened to be where some of the most defining actions of WW2 took place. Each location we traveled too came to life with these stories, and it only takes a quick glance at my camera roll to remember each one like I was standing there moments ago. While traveling to these locations across France, Belgium, and Germany we stayed at very comfortable hotels, tried many incredible local dishes, and learned about the history of the areas themselves such as our time in the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims or in Château de Chambord. We were even lucky enough to catch the tail end of the Christmas season in Luxembourg and experience the shops and sights there! This trip was one of the greatest shared experience for my dad and I to have done together and is something I will never forget!

Amazing Personalized WWII Battlefield Tour - My family and I loved this tour with Rudy and Normandy American Heroes. Rudy's knowledge and stories about WWII captured the attention of me, my husband and our 3 kids (ages 14, 16 and 17). We spent 10 day with Rudy guiding us through the events in Normandy, Reims France, Bastogne, Munich and Berchtesgaden and Rudy made every moment memorable and personal. Our visits to the German and American war cemeteries were incredibly impressionable for my children who learned, from Rudy, how to identify and research the lives of the American patriots that fought to defend freedom. We traced the path of different US military divisions, experienced the fox holes and revisited the events of major battles during the war, all of which Rudy brought alive with personal details of soldier's stories. Rudy even took us on a hike to hidden tunnels and bunkers in the forest of Germany and on a path following the footsteps of Hitler as he walked from his home to a local café in hills were he often took afternoon tea. I can't say enough about the quality of the tour that Normandy American Heroes delivered!! It's an experience my family will never forget.

A life-changing experience!! - Rudy and Pierre provided a world-class experience for our 3 day tour. Four siblings and our spouses were guided on the path our Father took through Normandy as part of the 4th Division. It was life changing!! Every part of the experience was first class including accommodations and meals. We received a very clear vision of events before and after D Day and how our Father and his fellow heroes preserved freedom for the world. No detail was too small. Most of all, Rudy and Pierre became part of our family. We recommend the two of them and Normandy American Heroes to anyone who wants to better understand these major events in history.

Thee Best Veterans Sites Tour - An incredible, historical & memorable event. Pierre, our guide w/Normandy American Heroes, is knowledgable, personable, kind & patient. He met our group at the train station in Bayeux w/a clean & spacious SUV. Pierre taught our group of 4, ranging in age from 23-51, about history, culture & some local vocabulary. We visited areas my husband's great Uncle served & ultimately gave his life to defend. I'm a combat veteran myself and I was impressed with the humility, the dignity, the reverence that is given to all of the fallen soldiers. Normandy American Heroes is well worth every penny spent. Our group will NEVER forget this insightful trip. Thank you...for everything.

Well done!! - Rudy, our tour guide picked us up from our hotel in Paris in his Audi SUV. It was my wife, my self snd our 22 yo daughter. We got out of the city traffic snd the first stop was the headquarters of Rommel while charged with defending the Normandy coast. Lunch at a cafe adjacent to the castle was included. Then, on to Bayeux which would be our base of operations. Rudy recommended several hotels and we chose Hotel le Bayeux and loved it. Breakfast included. We had a spacious 2 bedroom suite and Cedric and Elodie’ did not disappoint. The next day started with touring the farm where the 101st airborne Easy company landed and visited with Charles, the farms owner who had numerous photos to share of the German gun emplacements where the Germans took over the family farm. On to several museums and ending at sunset on Utah beach. Day 3 was more museums, a tour of the gun emplacements at point du hoc and a wreath laying ceremony at the American cemetery. The day concluded at sunset on Omaha beach. Rudy’s knowledge of the area snd the depth of which he studied to prepare was simply incredible. Rudy’s encyclopedic knowledge of the 100 days of the Normandy battle is like having a walking Wikipedia with you. He gave us personal stories of specific soldiers, their significance and their heroics. Standing on top of the German gun emplacement that General James Rudder and his Rangers neutralized was a special moment to my daughter, a Texas Aggie and connected the significance of Rudder tower on the campus to Rudder tower at Point du Hoc. I will say that you need to wear comfortable water resistant shoes. We walked and climbed a lot of stairs. We took the non stop train back to Paris. 1st class tickets were 84 euros for the 3 of us(total). Rudy also gave us a list of restaurant recommendations in Bayeux. All spot on. The highlight was La Maison Blanche. John is a great host and VERY entertaining! 5 star experience all the way around.
