Boling Lake hike - Nahgie picked us up at the Cruise Port. We drove to the start of the path, and hiked to the Boiling Lake. It was a great (and tough) hike, but Nahgie was really helpful and provided lots of info on both Dominica and the hike it self. After coming back ~8 hours later we went for a swim in the gorge and he dropped us back at our ship. Great tour - can highly recommend Naghie.

100% recommended - It was a beautiful hike and our guide was excellent. We are glad that we booked it.. i think the hike is manageable if you are experienced but we felt much calmer and assured with our guide. He also let us know a great deal about nature, the history of Dominica and we even discussed the current situation for people here. So many thanks to him and we can wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

One of my favourite caribbean islands, and I've visited almost all! - Dominica as the Nature Isle did not disappoint! The people were friendly and the scenery amazing. Everything grows twice as big as it's usual size! The rum was fantastic, the beaches, hot springs and waterfalls were top notch. We biked, ran, bathed, soaked, hiked, ate and danced. We were in awe at the rocks, lol. You are not going to get modern conveniences around every corner but that adds to the flavour.

Hot and steamy at Boiling Lake - We had an absolute fabulous day with Berani Great guide and great fun to be with for the day. Hike was a challenge but so rewarding, seeing the steam coming from Desolation Valley then the spectacular Boiling Lake. Topped off with a refreshing swim in Titou Gorge! Magic day!

Another tick on my bucked list - Long but amazing hike, it took us nearly 8 hours but it was worth every step. We were able to refill our bottles with fresh water from the springs and we boiled eggs for lunch at the boiling stream near the lake.

An exceptional hike with breathtaking scenery - The scenery was absolutely spectacular. This was the highlight of our visit to beautiful Domonica. The hike is long and difficult in places but very doable and was made a lot easier by our guide,Nathan, who was knowledgeable and friendly. Nathan brought eggs which he boiled in the hot springs. They tasted great and gave us an energy boost for the hike back.

Much harder than expected! - Beware!!!! This hike is much harder than any of the reviews I had read before committing to doing it. I summited Mt Kilimanjaro 11 months prior to this and thought hiking Mt Kili was easier than this Boiling Lake hike. We used a guide provided to us by where we were staying. We started the hike at 8am and didn't get done until 5:20pm. We were fortunate to have overcast skies and only got rained on for a short time near the end of the hike. We only saw 3 other set of people so it was not crowded at all, which was nice. We spent some down time in the Valley of Desolation to rest and play with the mud. We also took some time at the Boiling Lake to eat our lunch. Otherwise, we didn't take the time to bathe in any of the thermal pools as I knew we were running tight on time. I think what made the hike more difficult than Kili was the grade, speed, & wetness. We had to hike at a certain pace to make sure we would get back out before dark. There is a lot of climbing and bouldering - it is not a well defined path for most of the time. The terrain was very wet and slippery, which made it slower going and required more brain power and thought than just a regular one-foot-in-front-of-the-other hike. It was beautiful terrain, an awesome experience, and I'm glad we did it. But I have no desire to do it again. This was a first hike for my boyfriend and even though he is athletic and in shape, we would not have done it had we read more accurate reviews. This is definitely not a hike for beginners. According to my Garmin it was 4.7miles from start to the lake, 9.4mi total. If you feel you can physically handle it, then go for it - it was beautiful and a unique experience. It is a lot more bouldering and climbing than the reviews I had read talked about. I like that, but it does make it more challenging than just a hiking a foot path. Make sure your shoes are sufficient for traction control. Bring a refillable water bottle as you can refill it at multiple places from natural streams. You'll want to bring food or snacks as it will be an all day activity unless you choose to turn back. We chose not to swim in the gorge afterwards because it was way too crowded. Our guide took us to a separate thermal pool nearby afterwards to calm our muscles.
