A magical tour you won't regret! - We had a wonderful time on our three-day tour from Marrakesh to the Sahara and back again! We would highly recommend it as a great way to see a different side to Morocco beyond the bustling streets of Marrakesh. Life outside the city moves at a gentler pace and it complemented our urban stay nicely. The drive through the Atlas Mountains and then increasingly remote desert towns was unlike anything we had done before and gave us memories that will stay with us for a long time. Thanks to our driver, Haadi (Abdelhadi), for making this trip so special. If you book this trip then you won't regret it! We were initially hesitant about this tour due to the amount of driving involved (~4h, ~5h, ~9h across the three days), but we found that the scenery and towns were so beautiful and interesting that this time flew by. If you haven't visited this type of destination before, then you will likely find the same. In terms of the driving itself, we had been concerned that there would not be many places to stop for the toilet, but in reality this is not the case. For the majority of the drive, there is probably a toilet at most every 30 minutes (often much more frequently). So, don't worry about this aspect of the tour. We were also anticipating the drive across the Atlas Mountains being on dangerous mountain roads, but this also was not the case. The roads in this section (and much of the desert section) of the drive were fantastic and had recently been renovated. There were barriers along the edge of the mountain on most of the more bendy sections of the road. So, again, don't let worries about the safety of the roads put you off this trip. Haadi's driving was great: he clearly knows these roads very well since he himself is from the desert. This is reflected in how he drove - anticipating hazards well before other road users and making the drive much smoother for us! His experience also allowed us to stop at cafes and shops whenever we desired and he had an encyclopaedic knowledge of reasonably priced places to eat and use the toilet etc. He always seemed to anticipate where / when we would want to stop before we did! Haadi was also invaluable for showing us things to do along the way, which allowed us to break the journey. Since he knew what each activity at each stop involved, we were able to tailor the trip according to our interests. Throughout the trip, he taught us about Berber culture and gave a running commentary of the whole region, likely beyond what you get during a group tour. This even included stopping off at his family's home! All the stops he arranged were interesting and we didn't stop anywhere that pressured us into paying money if we didn't want to. Haadi also took care of us in lots of small ways, such as arranging for staff to meet us from the riad when we returned to Marrakesh. We would highly recommend him as a driver. The accommodation for both nights was very nice and fitted the luxury label that came with this package. The food included was tasty and we found good options for lunch along the way. Obviously, the highlight was spending a night in the Sahara, as this was the whole point of this excursion! The camel rides and sunset/sunrise were all magical. The final destination speaks for itself in terms of why you might want to visit, so we just want to reiterate that all the destinations you encounter en route are also well worth visiting. Overall, you won't regret booking this trip! The many hours spent in the car proved not to be a problem (and in fact were an unexpected highlight along with the desert stay). This one will stay with us for many years. And thank you again to Haadi for being such a good driver!

INCREDIBLE! - Our tour started with 3 days and was private. Our guide and driver Joseph was an amazing person. He took us to the best restaurants, traditional food, to the best tourist spots in the area. At the beginning he was a very nice person who ended up becoming a friend. He cared about you, took photos of you, asked you if they had to stop to eat or go to the bathroom constantly, punctual... The attraction is also unforgettable. First day we had an incredible experience. Second day even better, walk through the desert, camels, night watching the stars and listening to traditional music. Honestly EXCELLENT!!!

Wonderful Moroccan adventure!!! - Superb 3 day excursion from Marrakech to Merzouga. Our super guide Mehdi showed us magnificent landscapes throughout the tour. We slept in a charming hotel in Dades Valley, then in a beautiful camp in the middle of the desert. The camel ride in the desert for sunset and sunrise is magical! I 1000% recommend this excursion (with Mehdi it's the best!)!! We leave with incredible memories and images that will remain forever! Thank you for everything !!

We got a nice experience of the Atlas Mountains, Berber villages, beautiful valleys and of course the desert where we got to enjoy both sun set and sunrise, and see the stars.

A first time Moroccan trip to remember (and never the last!) - Mehdi was an amazing guide and driver, making our first trip to Morocco a truly memorable one. He went out of his way to show us the little bits of true non-touristic Moroccan culture which we enjoyed beyond belief. His thoughtfulness of people and respect in general was beyond admirable and as two women traveling, we felt safe, protected, and well taken care at all times. I hope we can have Mehdi as our guide and driver again because after 3-days in the car and in the desert, he feels like family now 😆 Thank you for everything and our trip wouldn’t have been the same without him and this tour! Highly recommended!! A must-do if you’re in Morocco especially for the first time! Big hugs and kisses to him. From Aska & Yuko.

From arid deserts to verdant mountains - Morocco was definitely full of surprises. Our group of 7 friends spent 2 unforgettable weeks with Abdel driving us through Morocco. We visited, among several cities and towns, the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen (which we spent the whole trip trying to pronounce), the peaceful coastal towns of Essaouira and Asilah, the exciting and ancient cities of Fes and Marrakesh and of course, Merzouga in the Sahara desert. We drove through the Atlas Mountains, on zig-zag roads, up to the verdant Boumaine Dades stopping almost at every turn to take pictures and take in the spectacular scenery. We visited old medinas, unique souks, historic sites - including Volubilis, an important Roman site - and Ait Ben Haddou which also dubs as movie studio since several films have been shot there such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. All through the trip, Abdel was most accommodating. It's not easy to please 7 different personalities! He was always respectful, kind, patient and always had a bright smile on his face. On the long stretches of our roadtrip, he played Berber music and enlighten us about his Berber culture. This experience wouldn't have been possible without the input and suggestions of Monica at Morocco Lifetime Tours. Her recommendations and tips were extremely helpful. What an incredible, amazing and unexpected country. A diverse geography and a fascinating culture. Morocco was definitely full of surprises.

Nice trip - A great night in the desert, an unforgettable experience of the views and sandy expanses. We traveled together, we were met in a large car (7 seats for passengers). The driver was careful in driving and everything went smoothly. There were very friendly and cheerful guys in the camp who, after dinner, played the drums and danced with us. We also visited various sights along the way. For example, the Atlas film studio, where the gladiator was filmed. I recommend this tour :) P.S. As elsewhere in Morocco, don't forget to haggle at the stops. Feel free to reduce the price by 3-4 times. If the seller does not agree, you can always go to another, because a lot of merchants offer the same service / product.
