Great tour of Sagunto & the remains of Jewish life - Sagunto is an amazingly interesting place. We were guided by Sergio who did an excellent job. He is knowledgeable, warm & welcoming and the hours just flew by. Sergio explained the history of the region and the castle. There is a small archeological museum contains some fascinating artifacts. The Jewish quarter, as one might expect, does not have much left in terms of Jewish life or artifacts since the expulsion of the Jewish people in 1492. There are the remains of a mikveh that can be seen. Further up the bill, there are the remains of the Jewish burial areas. All in all we thought it was very worthwhile & it would have had much less meaning without a guide.

Great tour. - Great private tour. Highlighted Jewish, Roman, and Moorish history of the Sagunto/Valencia region. Sarah is a knowledgeable tour guide and historian. The discussion of the Jewish link to the silk trade and Columbus was particularly interesting.

Unwilling to share all of Spains past. - The excursion was nice. My only complaint is we asked the guide to provide history of the black kingdom in Spain as well as the Christian and Jewish kingdoms. He was more than happy and very knowledgeable about the Christian and Jewish communities in early Spain but did not care to speak about the Moores which was a shame. Learning about the Moores was the reason we splurged on this excursion.
