Into the Heart of the Desert

The sun was just beginning to rise as my group of thrill-seekers and I set out on our latest adventure: the Qasab Salt Flats Tour. Our guide, Badr, was a local legend known for his deep knowledge of the region and his uncanny ability to make every moment unforgettable. As we drove towards the salt flats, the anticipation was palpable. The landscape unfolded before us, a vast expanse of shimmering white that seemed to stretch into infinity.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with the warm hospitality that Saudi Arabia is famous for. Badr introduced us to one of his friends, who welcomed us with steaming cups of traditional tea. The day culminated in a feast at the Hleiwah heritage souk, where we were treated to a meal prepared by a local chef. As we dined, Badr introduced us to his pet falcon, a majestic creature that added an unexpected thrill to the evening. Holding the falcon was an experience like no other, a rare and personal connection to the ancient traditions of the desert.
