Next, drive to the Heaven Gate, the highest road peak in Vietnam. From here, you can view Fansipan, the “Roof of Indochina,” and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the valley.
Continue your journey by trekking downhill through a bamboo forest, part of the Hoang Lien National Park. Find a scenic spot by a river to enjoy your lunch.
Terraced Rice Fields in Sin Chai Village - After lunch and a rest, begin the afternoon by trekking to Sin Chai village, home to the Black Hmong ethnic minority. This community-based tourism site offers an overnight stay and a chance to explore the daily life of one of Sapa’s largest ethnic groups.
Sin Chai – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho
Cat Cat Village - Upon reaching the mountain’s summit, trek along a small trail offering stunning views. Descend to Cat Cat village, nestled in a picturesque valley just 3 kilometers from Sapa town.
Upon arrival, pause to appreciate a waterfall and a hydroelectric station. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and fresh air along the way.
Lunch will be served near the waterfall.
Y Linh Ho - After lunch, trek along a trail through the mountains. Enjoy breathtaking scenery as you walk beside a narrow river.
The day’s final stop is Y Linh Ho village, home to the Black Hmong people. Note that the trail from Cat Cat to Y Linh Ho can be slippery during the rainy season. Here, observe and learn about the fascinating daily life of these ethnic minority people, and admire the stunning rice paddy terraces.

Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai – Tavan
Muong Hoa Valley - On the third day, continue trekking along the Hoang Lien mountain range. Enjoy spectacular views of the expansive rice terraces in Muong Hoa valley, the largest in the Sapa area.
Find a pleasant spot to stop for lunch.
After lunch and a brief rest, continue downhill to the valley’s base.
Lao Chai - Pass through Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of the Giay minority along a popular trekking route. Explore the village, enjoy the stunning valley views, and take a refreshing swim in the nearby river.
Experience an overnight stay in a local Giay ethnic house.
Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan
Ta Van Village - After breakfast, depart Tavan village for Giang Ta Chai village, home to the Red Dao people. Trek through a bamboo forest in Hoang Lien National Park and visit a waterfall. Rest at the waterfall and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Then, find a suitable spot for a pre-prepared picnic lunch.
After lunch, continue trekking to Su Pan, a small village near the road. After exploring, climb uphill to a road where a car awaits to take you back to Sapa.
The four-day tour concludes upon your return to Sapa.
