Fun day out - This was a well planned tour and it was adjusted to the day's weather conditions too. Our guide was amazing - friendly, helpful, professional, easy going...he also shared lots of information on the history and local customs. Our toddler normally hates car seats, but the guide placed him calmly in the seat without any complaint at all! Nice to see the nature, historical sites and small villages outside Taipei, and we enjoyed preparing the sky lantern. We had a great day, would gladly recommend this tour!

Wonderful, 10/10. - 10/10 would recommend this half day private tour. Our tour guide, James, was extremely polite and courteous. He was accommodating with regards to timing of each location, provided helpful insights to Taiwan and its culture/background/history, and experienced with touring (knows in/outs of locations). The tour itself was wonderful. Each spot had it's own beauties and background, it was an amazing experience for any new traveler.

My guide Roger was... - My guide Roger was amazing - on time, knew the route, knew the timings to get to the various places to avoid crowds and knew where the best spots to take photos were. Spoke great English and gave us background information about each spot. 10/10 would recommend.

Interesting half day tour - We received a tour from Vincent for just the two of us. Vincent was good at getting us from place to place, answering our questions and identifying the best places for photos. We particularly like the sky lantern activity. Overall, the half day went quickly and we were never bored.

Great half-day excursion of Taiwan northeastern shore and old towns - We really enjoyed our Half Day Private Tour to Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall & Pingxi Sky Lantern with Sean W. He picked us up at our hotel, and we departed on time for the trip. Sean spoke fluent English and took us to Shifen Fall (my favorite), Shifen for the lantern release (super fun), old mining sights, and lastly, Jiufen. He was very accommodating and answered our many questions, as well as gave us insights into the areas we visited. He was also a very safe driver, which we much appreciated. We would definitely recommend Sean and YOLO Taiwan for great service, pre- trip communications, and a quality tour.

Hitting All The Spots in One Afternoon - We booked with Viator for a half day tour which started at 2pm to 8pm. We hit the following sights: Shifen Waterfall, Pingxi Sky Lantern, Yin Yang Sea, Golden Waterfall and the Jiufen old street. The highlight of this tour was hands down the sky lantern where we had a blast in writing our wishes on the lantern. Since we are four, each got one side and we had fun with our own side. The guide and the operator helped took pictures of us holding the lantern and also a video of us releasing the lantern. It was as a participative activity that we highly recommend. At the Jiufen old street, it was crowed even if it was in the late afternoon and raining. We struggled to get to the Tea House at the far end of the street but we got there and took our pictures. We sampled stinky tofu and peanut ice cream as we were running short on time. Got to buy shirts and caps too. We realized that souvenirs are better at the sky lantern so make sure to buy there than wait for the last stop at Jiufen. The other sights were good for picture taking and our guide, Jacky Lo, was our photographer. He took some great family pictures.

Perfect family day! - Our tour guide Vincent is the best! He really took care of our family of 6, 3 generations and offered us many useful topics around Taiwan. Also loved his bullet proof van! Thank you, Vincent.

Aaron of YOLO Tours was very attentive! - The entire family enjoyed Pingxi Sky Lanterns! The kids had fun writing special messages on the lanterns prior to setting them in flight. Juifen was busy but interesting . The food was great. Shifen waterfall is beautiful!!

Great Tour if you have little time - We booked this tour before leaving Australia. Our guide (Frank) was on time for the hotel pick up and was caring and considerate throughout the tour (my wife has trouble with steps, so he paced the tour accordingly). Unfortunately we choose a day when the weather was not the best (light showers, which are common in this area of Taiwan). Highlight was the creating and releasing of the Sky Lanterns in Jiufen. Shifen Old Street was very crowded with tour bus sightseers, but managble. A well organised and paced private tour.

Wrong description - The only good thing about the tour was the guide, Junior. He made this tour incredible, but unfortunately we could not see all of the activities that was stated in the tour description. We only did 3.
