Highly recommended experience - Brandon is a very friendly guy with a genuine fascination about nature and Tortuguero! Perfect English, and a very communicative guy!

Best tour guide in Tortuguero - I ended up going on 2 night tours with Brandon because I enjoyed them so much. He is amazing at spotting extremely well-camouflaged animals that anyone else would have missed - not like some of the other guides who simply follow the more talented spotters around. He even pointed out an almost invisible red-eyed tree frog on a leaf about 20m away. That is the most impressive piece of animal spotting I have ever witnessed. We saw sloths, an armadillo, a raccoon, a woolly possum and a mouse shrew as well as tone of amphibians and reptiles. Seeing mammals is rare and special and the armadillo is still the coolest thing I’ve seen after 3 weeks in Costa Rica. It’s also nice to know he grew up in the area and is a real local as well as just being a super friendly guy. I left feeling like I had made a friend, not just been on a tour.

5 star tours - highly recommend - Went on the night tour which I’d highly recommend. Brandon is so knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and he is amazing at spotting the most camouflaged species! The boat tour was equally amazing and really enjoyable.

great guide - We did a night walking tour with Brandon and had a great experience! He was knowledgeable, passionate about the wildlife, and had a great eye for spotting animals we would have totally missed on our own. We saw frogs, snakes, and insects. The pace was relaxed, and they took the time to explain what we were seeing and answer our questions. Overall, it was a fascinating and fun way to explore the forest at night — highly recommend!

Night tour and kayaking - We did a night tour and a kayak tour. Both super fun, saw a lot of beautiful animals and learned a lot of things from Brandon!

Fantastic jungle night tour (saw loads of animals) - Brandon was an amazing guide. His pride in his beautiful home of Tortuguero and passion, knowledge and love for the wildlife and their conservation shone through. My friend and I joined both his night tour and river canoe tour and he was a true professional throughout (as well as, helpfully, speaking better English than our Spanish). We saw so many animals and insects and he helped us get some great videos and pictures. It was a real highlight of our holiday and would thoroughly recommend.

A Night of Jungle Magic with Brandon - The rainforest at night is a world of hidden wonders, and with Brandon as our guide, we stepped into that world with the best possible companion. Armed with binoculars, flashlights, and a sense of adventure, we set off on a slow and steady walk through the darkened jungle, where every rustling leaf hinted at something extraordinary waiting to be discovered. It didn’t take long. First, a grey four-eyed opossum, its small reflective eyes peeking at us from the trees. Then, a Central American porcupine, curled up like a spiky little mystery. At one point, Brandon hushed us and pointed to a branch – a snail-eater snake, coiled so perfectly we might have walked right past it. With every step, the jungle seemed to reveal more. Two red-eyed tree frogs, their neon-green bodies glowing like tiny rainforest jewels. A golden silk orb-weaver spider, its delicate web shimmering under our lights. And a witch moth, larger than I ever expected, resting like a shadow among the leaves. Even the rhinoceros grasshopper, an alien-like creature, had us marveling at its bizarre beauty. But what made the experience truly unforgettable wasn’t just the wildlife—it was Brandon. He had a sharp eye for spotting animals we would never have noticed, patiently ensuring that everyone had the chance to see and photograph them. He balanced knowledge with humor, keeping us engaged with fun facts, safe from potential dangers (yes, snakes!), and motivated to scan the trees for movement ourselves. At around 2.5 hours and 2-3 km, it was an easy walk, but nature’s unpredictability made it feel like a treasure hunt. We were incredibly lucky to see so many creatures that night, but even luckier to have a guide like Brandon who made every moment exciting and immersive. If you only do one tour in Tortuguero, make it one with Brandon. His skill in spotting wildlife makes all the difference!
