It lies on the former estate of the Hoboken family, who lived there in the Villa Dijkzigt; the Natural History Museum Rotterdam has been housed in the villa since 1987.
  • Witte de Withstraat - De Witte de Withstraat is a nightlife street in Rotterdam with cafes, restaurants, art galleries, various shops and municipal monuments. The street connects the Schiedamse Vest with the Eendrachtsweg. The street was named in 1871 after the Rotterdam fleetmaster Witte Cornelisz. de With (1599 - 1658).

In the seventies the street had a bad reputation in connection with the many shady cafes and illegal gambling houses. In the 1990s, an extensive metamorphosis was set in motion as part of the Art Axis that links the Museum Park and the Maritime Museum.

Best Tour! - The tour guide was just great! Elmar showed us around Rotterdam sharing interesting stories and insights. He also made a point of not always talking too but allowing us to take things in also! He gave us time to take things in, allowed time for a break, coffee and great food along the way! While it was a big day everything seemed balanced, with walking, stopping, going on a boat which we loved, and finally going to Kinderdijk! We loved the whole day and I would highly recommend this tour and Elmar!!!

Rotterdam in one day - Our tour guide Elmar was communicate before the tour, making sure we knew where to meet him. He accommodated the meeting place to our request. He was on time and asked us the most important sights we wanted to include. He scheduled the sights so that we could see all the ones were important for us. He was patience with us that walked a little bit slower than him. We were able to see everything without any schedule problems thanks to him.

Great first visit to Rotterdam! - First time visiting Rotterdam and we would definitely come back after this tour. We got to see a lot but there is so much more to see. We had a great, relaxing, tour experience with Elmar—super nice, welcoming, and friendly tour guide! Elmar was very cognizant of our preferences and wanted to make sure he met our needs. Took us for some great food too! I’d recommend Elmar and this tour!

Knowledgeable Guide - Very knowledgeable tour guide with an ability to adjust on the go in Rotterdam. Izzy definitely knew the ins and outs of that city and was able to meet the expectations of the tour. The '40-'45 museum was a great experience. Definitely could be an add-on for this tour. Really enjoyed Kinderdijk, though boat ride could have been longer. With Dutch trains breaking down, having a tour guide with intimate knowledge helps in being able to visit all attractions.

Rotterdam Kinderdijtk tour - This was a fabulous tour guided by Abdul. Many great stops along the way, very well paced. Interesting stops for lunch, desserts and coffee. Our guide made pictures along the way so we could all be in them and paying attention to the areas we were touring. He sent a link to all the pictures so we can download them to our personal files. We were a group of 5 somewhat older people. We did walk about 6+ miles but it was over easy terrain. We used a water taxi and public transportation (subway) to give us a real feel for the city. I would highly recommend this tour. Abdul was so informative and patient. His timing was impeccable.

Wonderful and memorable experience - We had a really wonderful tour with Izzy. Our original guide called in sick and Izzy took her place at the last moment on a cold and very rainy day. Despite all this he made it a very memorable and special day. He even went out of his way to rent a car to take us to Kinderdijk so we would not get soaked. He also gave us great recommendations for places to have drinks and listen to music.

Great day with a few hiccups - Our guide was fantastic but the “included” admission fees etc had to be paid by the customer because the tour guide’s credit card didn’t work. Still waiting to be reimbursed.
