Bitterly disappointed - MyItalianHoliday ruined our trip to Rome during our Italian holiday - Unable to rate the tour itself as we were not picked up at our hotel as arranged, so never did the trip to Tivoli which was the reason we went to Rome. Had to bring forward the day of our trip due to forecast heavy rain. Had text from tour company early on the rearranged morning asking if we still wanted to go on the trip and the pick up time would be 15 minutes later than arranged. Confirmed new arrangements and waited outside our hotel from 5 minutes before pick up time. After 15 minutes no-one came so tried phoning the company but no reply. As we were texting, an email came in via Tripadvisor saying they were unable to find us at the hotel and had checked and we were not in our room and to contact them immediately. Texted the company to say we were outside the hotel and no-one had appeared. Eventually they said they could not reschedule the trip and were sorry for any inconvenience. No further response from them despite texts and emails. Did speak to someone on the phone mid morning who never phoned back as promised. No-one had spoken to the hotel as we checked with them so that was a lie and we did get sent a supposed location for where the transport had been which was in a different street behind a very high roman wall 100 yards from our hotel. What was the point in contacting us after the driver had left if they were not prepared to correct their error? Due to the bad weather the next day we unable to try to get our trip and had to leave Rome without seeing the Tivoli Gardens. We contacted Tripadvisor, explained what had happened and they arranged a prompt refund, without any argument. Thank goodness we did not book direct with the company as that would have been via PayPal.
