  • Piazza Sidney Sonnino - In Trastevere in some places there are about 20 meters between the ancient and modern plan. We will take you to visit the dungeons of ancient churches, where the first Christians gathered to pray and ancient underground cemeteries, which tell of a Rome that no longer exists today.
You will be impressed to know a Rome that you did not think could exist, and that has its history since the 4th century BC

  • Trastevere - We will visit the heart of Rome, Trastevere. We will visit churches, ancient alleyways, and forgotten corners of the historic city. Then we will cross the Tiber on one of the oldest bridges in Rome to arrive at an underground cemetery maintained by the Brotherhood of the Sacconi Rossi on the Tiber Island.

Additional Information

The district know as ‘Trastevere’ in Rome translates to ‘across the Tiber.’ It was home to Jews and emancipated slaves in antique times. Known for being one of the oldest and most picturesque areas in the city, Trastevere is steeped in history, myth, and subterranean places. Our expedition starts by unearthing the hidden treasures of the area, such as Rome’s eldest synagogue. Our tour guides us through a variety of unique churches and ancient labyrinthine streets. We then traverse the river to Tiber Island. Here, shockingly, a group of monks safeguard an antiquated subterranean burial place beneath their monastery, which contains preserved skeleton remains.
