Highlights
  • Trastevere - Meet your guide on Tiber Island, the only urban island of the Tiber river and learn the this small island shaped like a ship. Start the tour in the medieval side of Trastevere. Your guide will take you to the Church of Santa Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, and your first stop will be in one of Rome’s oldest bakeries.

  • Isola Tiberina - Trastevere remains very traditional and boasts the presence of many old-school craftsmen and traders. Discover their  work, unchanged by modernity, like the cold cuts store where you can taste salami and cheese cured in the local Italian tradition.

  • Piazza in Piscinula - Then, move to the heart of the district, in piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere. After visiting the homonym church, tasting will continue with one of the most famous typical Roman Street food: the supplì, a deep fried rice ball filled with cheese, tomato mozzarella egg. From one stop to another you will also discover one of the oldest and best pizza shop of the district.

Your guide will show you the off-the beaten paths of this area, and help you to familiarize with the area, full of restaurants of local cooking or bar and pub where young locals use to spend their night having fun with friends. Not only salty tastings, but also sweets!

  • Santa Maria in Trastevere - Before enjoying the gran finale with a savory, fresh made gelato, you will step on Sistus bridge on the Tiber, and take pictures of the big Cupolone, the Saint Peter’s dome that reveals itself on background. You will love this tour and Trastevere too!

Great tour for a good price - Really nice tour with a good guide. Giulia told us a lot about roman culture and food in a fun and relaxed way. And the food we tasted was great. Suppli, pizza, gelato, cheeses, meats and cannolo. No need to eat dinner afterwards we were stuffed😄 And for a family of four the price was also right. I can highly recommend this tour.

Amazing food and historical tour - This was much more than just a food tour! Our guide Francesca explained the significance of Trastevere and the history behind the area. She answered questions and showed us other attractions as well as the food. Well worth the money.

Trastevere food and culture - This tour was excellent. We visited Tiber Island and the Trastevere Quarter and tasted so many different Roman foods. We would never have gone to this area of Rome if we had not selected this tour. We were able to see how Romans live and not just the main attractions of Rome. Our tour guide was outstanding and it was so much fun walking though the quarter with her. I highly recommend this tour.

Would Definitely Recommend - Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job! The group only had 5 people so the experience felt very personal. I would recommend going on this food tour during your first days in Rome so that you can eat good food for the rest of your trip.
