Altar of the Fatherland - Come for Service and alone, we find a temple of history where you can breathe the true sense of belonging and country. All Italians must visit it inside and out at least once, with tribute to the UNKNOWN MILITARY.

This building symbolises what Rome is about. - I love this building. To me it is symbolises what Rome was all about. The museum inside is very informative.

Amazing views of Rome and... - Amazing views of Rome and plenty of space to move around. Requires climbing a number of steps to reach the elevator. Also, you need to go to an offsite location to receive the tickets.

Slightly Sunny At Altar of the Fatherland - The outdoor part of this site was breathtaking with many marble steps leading up to the scenic outlook open space. We also rode up the Panoramic Elevator and had amazing views of the city where we took a lot of pictures! The indoors museum was very interesting. We felt very informed thanks to the Touristation at Piazza Aracoeli. We had a coffee and cocktail in the cafe next to the Panoramic Elevator and enjoyed very good service. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone as a must see!

PANORAMIC VIEW OF ROME FROM THE TERRACE OF THE QUADRIGAS - The monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, also called Altare de la Patria is located in the center of Rome, in Piazza Venezia. If you go to Rome it's impossible not to see it. If you climb up to the large colonnade, which is free, you can climb even higher up to the top of the monument, the so-called Terrace of the Quadrages. You have to take a panoramic elevator, behind the colonnade that costs 17 euros, to climb to the aforementioned terrace. The truth is that they have exceeded the price, but they are. I paid to go upstairs, and I'll only do it once. It is true that the views are wonderful. You can see all of Rome from the four of you the cardinal points. But, if you don’t want to pay the 17 euros of the elevator, you can stay in the colonnade, from which, the views are also great and free, but from the Terrace of the quadrigas are more spectacular. Everything has to be said.

Started off rough, but ended off with a great bang - This excursion was not bad overall. A bit tricky to find when you’re going past the monument, and the WiFi service at that location sucked. You need WiFi to download the pop guide app if you don’t have it otherwise you won’t understand what the history is mostly about. Those being the bad points. The good points were that the tickets you purchase for the tour will get you into every single part of them monument. You definitely want all access to the site since the best views of the city are from the top of the monument after taking the elevator to the top. There are different tiers of views but make certain you get to the top, you can’t miss that. Also, you might be able to take a little bit of time and enjoy lunch at the cafe on the upper level before reaching the elevators.

Okay, but lacking. - First, the “tour company” was quite helpful, but you really don’t need them. If you walk up the monument to where the elevator starts, you can simply purchase a ticket there. We were directed to proceed “up the steps” with some general finger pointing, and we went up the steps to the church which is next to the monument. Then we had to walk back down and start again up different steps of the monument itself. So, note to travelers, unless you specifically want to see the church, be sure to start directly in front of the monument, and walk past the [very sloppy] soldiers guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier. Do not climb the stairs off to one side which go to the church. Once you get to the top of the monument you are treated to some stunning views of Rome, but there is nothing else up there and 10 minutes later you’ll be on the elevator back down. Honestly, it was worth it, but it felt like quite an ordeal to reach the top, and we are reasonably fit. One of our party had enough of all the steps and called it quits at the cafe half way up.

Waste of $ - The facility told me I was in the wrong place. After showing them I was at the correct address, they agreed I was in the right place. The tour consisted of going to the rough top for a view of the city and an app that identified landmarks. 7 of the land marks were identified as church of San Carlo.

A bad experience - A bad organization, there was a single line for both those who had already booked online and those who had yet to do so. The rude attendants could not make two separate lines... we were half an hour in line (despite we already had tickets!). I am speechless, I am a tour guide and I live in Rome, but I have never seen such rudeness and disorganization! It's a great shame because the place is really unique... it would take very little... maybe someone with an ounce of will to make their work aware!
