Great Creative Day - I saw the mosaic workshop advertised in several different formats. I was visiting my son studying abroad in Rome amd had free time while he was in class. It only worked into my schedule on my last full day on Rome. I signed up very late in the evening, ans was told it was booked. I was so disappointed! But I got an email and a text from the instructor that I was the first person to sign up for this new offering of a pixelated self portrait in mosaics and they could accomodate me. I was thrilled. The studio is in a very funky Rome neighborhood up in the hills behind the Collaseum. Well worth the walk to see the shops ,and eateries. I walked the entire neighborhood until they were ready for me. The instructor was awesome. She told me the history of the studio, one of the oldest in the world who still do original mosaic commissions for churches and clients worldwide. They did one in Central Park for John Lennon A fascinating fun day, learning the art form, and sitting with the REAL mosaic artists working on their projects in the same room The time flew by and I loved my project and the entire experience! Highly highly recommend.

Highly recommend - Amazing, informative and personal experience. Teacher took great care in ensuring we had the right image to create a masterful mosaic of, making sure we were all happy with our finished projects.

A wonderful experience, both fun and educational - We were fortunate to find this fun and interesting opportunity while researching cool activities. The website is okay, but email them to see if a specific date or time you are interested in is available. The studio is in a cozy street of boutiques and restaurants in central Rome. The history of the Cassio family and their connection to mosaics and the church is very interesting. We chose a portrait mosaic activity which is a little less of a class and more of an activity. We were aided by Uliana who was very friendly, nice and helpful. She took photos of us, picked the best shots and digitized the image into a pixelated black and white image. This was laid is a frame and we lay mosaic tiles over it. Almost like paint by numbers, but harder than it sounds. It was a lot of fun and very interesting. We'll definitely try another class on our next trip to Rome and highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in mosaics or trying something different.
