Via Urbana, 98 - The workshop will commence with an introduction to the techniques and history of Roman mosaics. Participants will then engage in practicing the principles of texture, composition, and marble tile cutting to create a personal mosaic to take home.
Teaching the authentic techniques of Roman mosaic craftsmanship is essential to us. Therefore, each mosaic will adhere to ancient standards.
The final product will be a unique mosaic, approximately 7” x 5” in size and weighing 14 oz, for participants to take home.
This is a fully immersive work experience. Participants will work in a genuine mosaic studio and use specialized tools. For safety reasons, it is recommended that participants be at least 12 years old to start this experience.

Eleonora and Renato are... - Eleonora and Renato are both really kind and passionate, which makes this workshop very friendly.
I recommend 100% and will probably come back for another workshop on micromosaic!
You will learn about the different techniques of mosaic and make your own, with some advice. It was such a nice experience, as a solo traveller!

Exceptional Experience - This was a truly unique, fun and memorable experience. We loved learning the history of mosaics and then creating one of our own. We left inspired to continue to create more on our own when we get home. The artists were friendly and encouraging. A true delight!

Great experience! - I had an amazing time at the workshop! The atmosphere was fantastic, warm, and inspiring. The instructors were incredibly helpful and friendly, making sure everyone felt welcome and supported.
We also learned a lot of fascinating facts about mosaics and their history. What made the experience even more special was that the studio is usually involved in serious restoration work of historical mosaics, which added a real sense of authenticity.
I had so much fun and left with a beautiful souvenir I made myself. Highly recommended! Thanks!

Friendly, engaging experience - Friendly, welcoming hosts! Very engaging. Had a wonderful time with our twin 13 year old boys. Everyone loved the experience and end product! Close to the coliseum. A great way to spend the afternoon in an air conditioned art studio. Everyone spoke English very well!

Mosaic masterpiece - Ok. THIS is the experience you want to have in Rome to cool off in the AC and and spend some time making your own keepsake. We now have so much understanding for the puzzle making abilities and craftsmanship of making mosaic masterpieces. It is incredibly therapeutic as well. We popped in for lunch across the street and it was delish!

Loved it! - We loved it!!!! It was my daughter (13yrs) favorite activity in Rome so far. Thank you for teaching us the history, art and technique of ancient mosaic - we might have found a new hobby when we return home!
