Good introduction to the Amalfi Coast - Our day trip began in Rome with stops mainly in Sorrento and Positano along the Amalfi Coast. Our tour guide, Andy, was also quite friendly and informative along the way. Despite there being delays with the ferry which resulted in us having limited free time in Positano, we were still able to easily find some great places to shop and grab a quick bite to eat. There are ways to potentially maximize your time visiting the Amalfi Coast via the train or having your own driver. However, to truly get a fully enjoyable experience, you would be better off skipping the day trip and heading straight to Naples/Sorrento for part of your stay in Italy and then taking the ferry over to Positano each day. You could also just choose to stay in Positano during your trip, although it will be more costly. Nevertheless, thank you Andy and Walks of Italy for an unforgettable introduction to the Amalfi Coast!

Great way to see the Amalfi Coast when short on time - The tour was a great way for us to see the Amalfi Coast when short on time. The day is long but the stops (especially Positano) are wonderful. I wish we’d had more time there but had to keep to a tight schedule even when some unexpected delays popped up. Our guide Andy was very attentive and always made sure no one was left behind. He had tons of knowledge which really enhanced the areas traveling through. Overall, I had an enjoyable day especially since my time in Italy was short. If you have limited time I’d definitely recommend this tour as you cover a lot in one day and all transportation is taken care of for you. Another thing to note which I don’t recall seeing in other reviews - they stop halfway between Rome and the Amalfi Coast for a bathroom break and a food break (at your own expense) which was very appreciated. You can also buy souvenirs at the stop if you wish. You stop at the same place in both directions so if you decide later you wish you’d gotten something then you have another chance later.

Average Tour - Great Guide - Tour was ok, more transit (bus and boat time) than experience at the various locations. The guide explained that the boat was slower than usual so we lost a lot of our free time at each location. The last location we only spent 30 mins or so at - one shop experience then straight to the bus. The guide was great, wasn't any fault of his. May be better to take the high speed train to the Amalfi coast and book a tour from there to reduce transit time.

You have been warned! - Unfortunately this tour was not delivered as listed. Right from the beginning we were told about a change. Instead of Sorrento, we were going to Almafi. At this time the boat rides were still on. Half way we took a break at a rest stop upon returning to the bus told boats aren’t running due to rough seas. We are now going back to Sorrento to follow original tour by bus. I understand that weather is beyond anyone’s control but in the process we do pay for ferry tickets but no refund is rewarded nor any special treats for the change. Now in Sorrento, we were not given the lemon granitas (again in the price) but no real explanation why just a “no sorry.” I suggest you get a walking tour app because this tour just drops you off in the tourist shopping area with little direction. It is not a guided tour through the towns. To sum up the experience, we lost 30 minutes in Positano and no Salerno. As my husband described it, we paid for a very expensive bus ride. Could have done this on our own for a quarter of the price. Cities were beautiful which is why I gave it two stars, but strongly urge guests to considering planning it on your own so you are not disappointed.

Well-Organized & Great Views, But No Sorrento? - While the guide was good and the views from the boat were great, it’s frustrating that the itinerary says Sorrento and then our tour did not stop in Sorrento at all. This was the town I wanted to see and was told we were doing the itinerary in a different order (which I understand for logistical purposes), but it should be noted on the itinerary that your tour may not get to all the stops. Really disappointing! There was also no lemon granita, either. Viator your descriptions really overdo it, so plan for a good day but don’t set your expectations for what you read in the itinerary, because it’s not always true!
