An exciting and unforgettable experience! - I have been riding all my life, but this was definitely a new, and unforgettable experience! I was lucky enough to ride a very sweet racehorse named Atalanta with my knowledgeable guide Akkim. He knew all about the area and the horses, and I felt very comfortable and safe for the entire ride. We had a couple of lovely gallops on the beach, and a refreshing swim halfway through. Between the horses and the dogs, it is clear they take such good care of their animals, and allow them to have the freedom of island life while staying safe. I would go back in a heartbeat, and cannot recommend this stable enough.

Best beach ride EVER - Akeem was an amazing guide who helped us have a wonderful experience. We loved his demeanor, caring personality and especially his strength to climb a tree to get us fresh coconut water for dehydration.

Loved it so much we went back again 👌 - If you love to ride and are ever in St Lucia, I can’t recommend these guys enough @sandyhoofsslu They love their horses and, as a result, the horses love what they do. We’ve been out twice in the last three weeks - amazing!

Great ride with proper horses!! - Thank you so much to Sandy Hoofs for a fabulous day. Our guide Arkim was great, he was attentive to our horse riding experience and gave us a great ride. The horses were ‘horses’ and loved being ridden (ie no typical horse riding trek where they follow the leader like donkeys). We rode Atalanta, Teflon and Lucky, Tip for future riders - do not fib about your experience level!!

Wonderful experience - Memorable and fun, utterly stunning scenery and excellent service from the chauffeur to the owners (who are lovely guys) to the guides who are attentive and relaxed. As horse people ourselves it was so good to see the horses treated so well with plenty of food, water and shade for them. They aren’t worked too hard either and this comes through in the riding - a bit steep and rocky in places but nothing our 9 year old (who has barely ridden a horse before in his life) couldn’t easily handle. I would recommend plenty of sun cream, perhaps some longer (light) trousers and maybe a small rucksack with anything else you need. While no horse on the planet is actually bomb proof these are extremely well behaved, cared-for and sweet ponies operating within a lovely wee herd. They looked very happy. The saddle is western style which is much more comfortable than English and stops any slipping around. Highly recommend this activity for both never-ridden-before (though you might want to try something local at home before you go) to experts. The countryside in the north is breathtaking.

Great time and the perfect way to experience Saint Lucia - Had an amazing time going for a good few canters and a swim in the sea. I went with Tevin, who did a great job showing me all the sights and even got me a coconut while letting the horses rest on the beach.

Living my best life!! - The whole experience was absolutely amazing! The view was breathtaking, the Customer Service was awesome. I felt right at home and I’m so grateful I will definitely do it again. Not to mention it was my first time riding a force, and he was so welcoming and wanted to lead the way the whole time!

The beach scenery is stunningly beautiful. - My daughters and I took the Advanced ride. All of us have a lot of riding experience. The beach scenery on the ride is even prettier than the Trip Advisor pictures indicate. It's surprising that a 5 star resort hasn't developed this beautiful area. Maybe that's because I'm told it gets rough on the Atlantic side of St. Lucia. Perhaps, but it was very calm on January 5, 2024. Shady Hoofs lets you take risks. All of our group's horses were bred as race horses. If you want to race down the beach on a Thoroughbred, Shady Hoofs lets you. The Shady Hoofs' downside is it's challenging to get to the stables, they are very basic, the horse ride to the beach area is partly through an impoverished and trashy area, and the staff is young island boys who are skilled but mostly there to guide you - not to help or protect you. Further, it is my opinion that the Advanced ride truly requires advanced riders. My horse (Lucky) could be stubborn and a challenge to handle. Also, he was extremely fast and took off on me a couple of times. I handled him but if falling off a horse scares you, consider Shady Hoofs' other ride options.

Great ride for experienced riders! - I love going on rides when I travel. I am an FEI dressage rider and experienced trail rider, own two horses and my own stable. I had a wonderful 3 hour advanced ride with Alpha, riding a little ex-race horse. The ride was delightful, lots of galloping on the beaches and Alpha was a delightful guide. The horses are very well cared for, which is not always the case at tourist stables. I would absolutely return and hope to next year!
