Best Day at Private Kent Castles - We opted for the exclusive private excursion of century-old castles and cathedrals of Kent. The flexible private full-day tour took us on a journey back in time. Our dedicated guide, Jacob helped to customize the 10-hour tour itinerary, while stopping at the royal residences of Leeds Castle, Rochester Castle, and Hever Castle, along with UNESCO-listed Canterbury Cathedral and White Cliffs of Dover. We thoroughly enjoyed the round-trip transit from our hotel in a luxury vehicle!

Peter was wonderful! He... - Peter was wonderful! He had a great attitude and answered any questions that we had. He was engaging and enthusiastic. I wish we had more time and each stop. We felt rushed. But the sites themselves were awesome!

Each day with David was full of interesting places and flowers, we'll be back in 2023! - In addition to our wish list, David arranged a picnic at Bodiam, strawberries each day, and White Cliffs from 3 different sites. He is cool, calm and fun, and when a sudden hail storm popped up on a back country road, he navigated the van effortlessly. 5 friends from U.S.

Amazing Day at Hever and Hampton - We cannot recommend London Country Tours enough. We had Peter as our guide and he went above and beyond to make our day out extremely unforgettable. We first went to Hever Castle and Peter was teeming with historical knowledge about everywhere we were going. We had decided to do the deluxe trip, which included snacks, drinks, and a private tour of the castles, but Peter did so much more for us. While we were at Hever Castle Christian planned to propose and Peter made sure to capture it all on camera. After our tour of Hever had ended he surprised us with a reservation at the Henry VIII pub, as well as an amazing basket full of snacks and celebratory drinks! When we got to Hampton Court, Peter made sure to take all the photos we wanted so that we were able to focus on our trip at hand. He truly went above and beyond to make this day very special. We never felt rushed, and we were able to take our time at both destinations to enjoy every moment. We cannot thank Peter and the whole LCT team enough for everything that they did for us. It truly was an unforgettable day!

Custom tour of Kent Castles on short notice - Wonderful tour of Hever and Leeds castles and the Kent countryside in between with guide Peter G. We (and our luggage) were picked up in Brighton (at extra cost of course but that was noted up front and expected), were driven to the various castles, had a great lunch at an authentic country pub, and were driven to our final destination in London. This was all arranged by David Stubbs with about 2 weeks notice. David was extremely responsive and in less than 24 hours from my initial inquiry everything was arranged. In our particular case, this solved about 2 or 3 different quandaries we hadn't quite figured out for our UK trip. But have no fear, London Country Tours to the rescue! Peter was a knowledgeable and friendly guide, gave us some background history of each castle, especially Hever Castle (formerly occupied by Henry VIII and his 6 wives) while taking us through the Kent countryside. In the interest of time, we did have to hit the motorway on our way to London. I think like many aspects of life, communication and management of expectations is key, and in our case I felt David did both very well. Doubtless many folks checking out LCT on TripAdvisor will do their due diligence and read the negative as well as positive reviews. The key is communication. Don't hesitate to communicate with David, confirm what you believe you're signing up for, and ask to clarify anything you don't understand (you might get back a curt reply to your question, but David's a busy guy). David never failed to reply to any of my questions within single digit hours, even with the time difference between the UK and USA. If/when we return to the UK, I won't hesitate to look up London Country Tours again - perhaps they can show us a different part of the surrounding English countryside. Leave the guidance and hassle of driving to them - you'll be in good hands!

A nice car to the coast, but no guide at destinations - Our guide picked us up from our hotel in Central London and was helpfully flexible on time. The car was a well appointed Mercedes van with 5 seats facing each other in the rear. Due to our late start (10am) we were only able to visit Kent Castle, lunch at a local pub, and a brief stop at Dover Castle/Cliffs. We returned to Central London after a 12 hour trip to Kent - we spent around 4 hours in transit. Our driver was very kind but we were disappointed he was not going to provide us any tour or information at the locations we visited! Note, entry to sites is not included and can be ~GBP25/person per site, which can add up to a large sum for small groups and hard to justify if you only spend 1 or 2 hours at each location.
