Tubing down Ronoake river - Lovely relaxing float down the Ronoake river. Some small rapids nothing too strong..water level was good & the weather was perfect..water temp cool but perfect for cooling off. Sean, from Ronoake Mt adventures was good explaining everything before the float.

A good way to relax and stay cool!!! - Very fun experience and relaxing. Easy access to get in and out. Terry was our person & he was extremely encouraging. It was a class 1 ride & not a lot of navigational problems. The river had some slow spots which you can hand paddle your way through. There were however a couple of rocky areas which can foul you up if you’re not careful! Don’t take anything for granted and my best advice ( from this novice) is if in question, steer to the shallows! If you need to take anything with you, make sure it’s in a waterproof container! You will get wet at some point. If you’re tubing, not kayaking, there’s not really a place to store stuff except under your little plastic seat and it’s hard to get it out once you’re floating. Definitely dun & a reasonably priced activity. Keep your kids close…. they may need you at certain places. Enjoy.

An amazing experience! But be prepared and informed before you go :) - It was an amazing experience! Our trip took about an hour and a half but we were having so much fun that the time practically flew by! A big heads up for those who go though, is that both the men and womens bathrooms have NO stall doors and the main bathroom door is locked wide open, so anyone can just walk in and see you doing your business. I found this out the hard way, so definitely recommend coming already dressed if you dont want strangers walking in on you changing or going to the bathroom 😂. In terms of what you may need, definitely bring extra clothes (your butt and back will be soaked), a towel (this can be left in your car and used after the trip), shoes that dont come off your feet easy, and a zip lock for your things (keys, phone, etc.) if you dont have a waterproof bag. The ride itself is by no means extreme, but it is also no lazy river ride. There are parts where you can be flipped over or get stuck in the bushes, but as long as you look ahead you can try to steer clear of it. There are also some parts on the ride where the water can be swift. If you know that you or your kids can't swim well then this may not be the activity for you. Some parts of the river can be 6+ ft deep, so if you fall out, you'll need to be able swim and stay afloat until you reach the more shallow parts and can get back on your tube. Because of this, I definitely dont recommend bringing a lot of things with you on the ride. If you flip over, your items could possibly fall out. The bottom of the tube is enclosed, and can be used to store items/shoes; however, there are little holes there where water comes in, so anything you stick down there will be soaked. I personally used a gallon ziplock bag to store my keys and such in, but with that there's always a risk that the bag will rip or bust, so take that as you will. Overall, I think this experience is great for being able to just chill with a slight thrill. This is great for both tourists and locals alike! The staff are absolutely amazing and truely care about making this a wonderful experience for their guests. They go above and beyond to keep guests safe while also providing an amazing experience. 10/10 experience! I will be coming back again!

What to Watch For - Service was great - Terry was super patient and friendly. Our party had kids 9 - 17 and everyone had a blast. The whole trip lasted 1hr and 45min without stopping or padling. Be aware of the last "drop" (about 15 yards from the end point), some of our floats flipped, it was fun for us, but it might be scary for kids or inexperienced swimmers.

Fun Family outing. All ages 74 to 7 had a fun trip. - Staff was very helpful with instructions. Peaceful way to float down the Roanoke River. More variety in size of tubes and more backs on tubes would have been appreciated.

River Float - It was a fun day! Roanoke Mountain Adventures does a great job. Very friendly and professional. It’s a leisurely float with plenty of spots to pull over to take a dip, splash etc. I’m sure there are times when river level is up and the rapids are faster. We had a good time.

Worst Tubes - The driver did a great job and was on time! The river is a bit low. The tubes are probably the worst tubes that I have used. They are not comfortable, they put you above the water. Very awkward.

It was ok... - Staff was friendly and informative. I guess I didn't do my due diligence and realize where we were floating. But during the float we saw a homeless camp and clothing and trash along the river. Not quite the experience I expected.

Don’t lose your tube - We had a lot of fun tubing. But when my husband was flipped out of his tube, we couldn’t catch his tube. We reported that his tube went past the exit point and was told it was no problem and it wasn’t the first one of the day and they would go get it. Then we got a $22 fee added to our bill for rescue tube operations. THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!! We were told the tube was found!!! We most likely won’t be back because of surprise charges.
