Additional Information

Embark on a journey to witness the heritage of Tortola by traversing the Great Mountain Rd leading to a striking 460-foot mural located on Fahie Hill, adorned with vibrant artworks by various local talents. Every mural captures a glimpse of the island’s traditional lifestyle, from constructing terraces (‘banking’) for farming on precipitous slopes, harvesting sugarcane, to sharing spectral tales under the glow of a lantern. We’ll pause to properly appreciate these artistic creations. The exploration continues to J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens and one of the remaining Rum Distilleries in the British Virgin Islands. After which, you’ll get to relax at the renowned Cane Gardens Bay Beach for an hour. The finale of the trip is the Crafts Alive Village, where you can purchase Tortolian apparel and memorabilia as keepsakes.

Beautiful Tortola - We really enjoyed our guided tour of Tortola. This was not the tour we had originally planned but was the only one with a pick up from our resort. We purposely chose a day when there were no cruise ships due in port which made the trip around the island peaceful. Unfortunately it was on a day when the Rum Factory and the Botanical Gardens were both closed but no problem as our excellent guide was more than capable of filling the gaps with other parts of the island not normally visited. The hour at Cane Garden Beach was just right, cocktails on the beach! A great day out, thanks to Paynes Taxis, again, not our original choice of tour but turned out perfect in the end.

Wonderful tour of paradise - Shampoo was an absolutely wonderful guide! My husband and I traveled to Tortola with our 7 year old son via a cruise and booked this tour through Viator (outside of the cruise line) and I’m so glad we did. It was a great introduction to the island - we will definitely be back!

Tortola BVI at it's best! - The excursion was one of the highlights of our cruise! Our guide, Shampoo, was fantastic and really knew his way around and the history of the Island. Looking at other tour groups, I felt we simply had the best guide. He handled drive those crazy narrow switch back roads so well. Great experience!

After reading all of the reviews I knew I had to take this tour and Shampoo didn't disappoint Ms Lydia was also great and highly responsive with a short notice booking which made my day!! Late departure & poor acoustics - We arrived 15 minutes early as instructed but needed to then wait for 45 minutes for parties on another cruise ship to arrive. Our guide pointed out key points of interest but we couldn't hear much of what he said for the first couple of hours of the trip due to a faulty (we think) PA system. Our guide was very kind and considerate. Too bad we couldn't hear a lot of what he was trying to share.
