Rio Lagartos

Its spectacular pink color is due to its high concentration of salt, microorganisms and the sun. The intensity of the color varies according to the position of the sun’s rays, allowing us to admire a range of colors that go from yellow and orange to the pink that characterizes it.

Amazing - This was a great experience! Our tour guide Frank was amazing! He’s hilarious. The boat ride with the Mayan bath was fun. Also feeding the crocodiles was a great. Totally recommend!

Good, but long bus ride and bad drop off - The spots they took us to were really cool, fun and beautiful, but the bus ride was excruciatingly long. I wish they would have specified in the details, I would have been more prepared for the trip. Also, the tour guide was dropped off before us and he told us to get off on the next stop and our hotel would be across the street. Well, we got off and our hotel was a 30 minute walk. We ended up paying an extra $10 for a taxi to bring us to our hotel. I paid for door to door pick up and that’s not what I got. After an incredibly long day of travel and sightseeing, the last thing we wanted to do was walk an extra 30 minutes at 9:00 at night in Mexico.

Decent value for money - The wild life aspect of this tour was great! Most of the day (at least 6 hours) however was spent on the bus collecting guests. They should use 2 buses, 1 for each city as this would make for a much easier day.

Disappointed and a bit offended - The trip to the pink lake, was a big scam. They will charge you 18$ more to get in, and then you have 30 min to walk one path, with a guard watching you and telling you to keep walking - really disappointing. However, the Mayan mud bad and the whole trip in the boats was amazing! So much fun and with the best captain! We laughed like crazy people! After lunch - which is in a really cozy restaurant, we went to a crocodile center, and that was the worst part of the tour. They made us hold the babies to take pictures, and the teens had tape tight around their mouths so we could hold them, and the big adults were hit hard in the head to keep them away, so that people could hold their tails and feel cool. It was so horrible to watch, and the biggest reason for the bad review. I really don’t recommend it. Don’t support this abuse of wild animals. Also our guide only knew 10 English words.

Avoid not worth your time . - Where do I start . It’s a 14:30 day from Cancun because you stop in Playa del Carmen to pick up people. Not 12 like they say .The total amount of time spent on the activities was 2.5 hours. The pink lake is actually a salt company so you have to be creative in taking your pictures it’s not a beach . We were left behind by the guide and driver 2x without any instructions and they left with our belongs. We finished our activity and came out to an empty parking lot with no one waiting. They said masks needed to be worn but the driver didn’t wear his the whole day and the guide did not enforce it onto the other people in the bus even though he had been asked to do so . The crocodile activity seemed very dangerous . Now for the good stuff the flamingo and pelican seeing was nice , the boat ride to the Mexican ocean was nice ( would have liked to stayed longer ) the mud bath no one did it it was awkward to do because of where it was at in the middle of nowhere . The food was ok at the little Resturant would have liked to spend a little more time in that little city to walk around. Over all for 131$was not worth my money or time at all. Save yourself the trip. Too much traveling for the amount of time spent doing something.
