Tremendous value for money! - Wonderfully knowledgeable guide! The Sauerkraut soup was beyond amazing We were able to taste two flavours of moonshine - black currant and chocolate mint. Delicious! We enjoyed meats, fish, candy, pickled cabbages, cheeses, and more. Really great way to spend the afternoon learning about local cuisine!

My favorite afternoon in Riga - The markets of Riga are housed in zeppelin hangars, large, lofty, open spaces that are filled with light and warmth. This tour begins in town, and after a quick walk through the old town you stop a minute to admire the hangars and hear about their origin, by way of introduction. The food on offer follows the set up of the markets themselves, meat, dairy and bread, vegetables and fish. Samples are plentiful at the planned stops and some surprise extra are sprinkled in throughout. There are options for every omnivore's palate from smoked meats and fish to sweets and drinks. (I would not recommend this tour for vegan or vegetarian foodies). As this tour focuses on food, there was no emphasis on the handicrafts or non-edible items available in the market, but they are there and beautiful and I recommend staying after to souvenir shop.

Fabulous tour - One of the best tours we have had. Our guide, regrettably I cannot remember her name, was absolutely super, she was so knowledgeable and kind. The tour is very accommodating with time, making sure everyone had a good time and knew about the food they were eating. The tour even ran over and the guide was still very attentive. I would not recommend this tour for vegetarians as there is a lot of meat, although there may be meat free alternatives I'm unaware of. Such an interesting building with history and of course the market itself is bustling, with a great atmosphere. I would 100% recommend this tour so you get a more in depth knowledge of one of Rigas best attractions.

Really interesting local food market - Had a brilliant time going around this fascinating market trying meats, cheeses, soup, drinks, candy…. Very knowledgable and engaging host and great value at €29 given the amount of food and the length of the tour. Highly recommend. Helped us make food choices for the rest of the time we were in Latvia and also in making purchases to bring back!

Really insightful and fun and highly recommended - This is a really great experience, not only to understand the culture and taste of food, but also to meet international tourists. The whole experience was fantastic. The lady was really informative about the history, culture, and culinary demands of the country, which would not of experienced anywhere else. It was not easy for the children to eat food as it was too fancy so I don’t really recommend all the food for the children, but it’s still worth them going on the tour with later, sweets and doughnuts on the tour. So my 12-year-old son, enjoy the experience and the desserts at the end. My only addition would be a couple of hot meals included would’ve been lovely as all of the food was cold which was a bit of a kick to the tummy in winter. I appreciate you weren’t going to be fed. You were going to taste the food for the experience, and it really was amazing.
