a most educational , as well as enjoyable, experience - The best part of the experience was not just the tasting of the variety of Latvian foods - but learning more generally about Latvian foods and cuisine. Our guide could not have been more friendly or helpful. We also learnt a lot about living in Latvia itself which was really intersting.

Amazing food tour with knowledgeable and friendly guide! - This was a great food tour! Our guide Edithe was so friendly and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed our time with her. We learnt loads about Latvia and its history and how people live nowadays. The food tasting part was great too. Edithe offered loads of different options for us to try and you could ask for things yourself if you fancied. The trip isn’t weather dependent either as you are inside. Would definitely recommend!

Best tour we've had - Highly recommend! - We had an absolutely amazing time on this tour. I would say this is a must do tour when visiting Riga. We were treated to lots of different traditional foods and learnt a lot about Latvian culture. Liga was extremely friendly and personalised the tour to our interests! Cannot wait to come back and experience another tour with Liga!

The ultimate Latvian experience - Latvian cuisine is exquisite and this is the perfect tour to discover it. We went around Rīga's central market with Liga, who introduced us to many flavours our palates had never tasted before: pickled veggies, hearty soups, delicious pastries. She made sure we were following all the sanitary requirements and we felt super safe with her. We couldn't recommend this tour enough. This is an experience for all senses since colours also invade you from all around. Great gourmet experience overall. Thanks Liga!

A must-do! - A great way to kick off a trip to Riga! Our guide Liga was very knowledgeable and friendly and we had a great time eating our way around the market. Definitely go on an empty stomach because we were in a food coma afterwards! Liga also gave recommendations for eating and drinking out in Riga, which we took and were not disappointed. Can’t recommend enough.

Perfect way to start a trip to Riga - We booked the tour for our first day in Riga and we were so glad we did. Liga our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We tried so much food and left feeling very full! The soup was a particular favourite. Liga also gave us recommendations for other restaurants and bars in Riga which was really helpful and we had a great time.

Would totally recommend Liga's tour of the food market! - Our travel guide Liga was really nice and personalized our tour regarding our expectations. We tasted a lot of really delicious traditional food and she showed us many "secret" tips, regular tourists might not now about. 10/10 would recommend 😁

Definitely worth a visit! - This was a good tour, and I would happily recommend it to any friends and family visiting Rīga! Our guide, Liga (unsure of spelling!) met us at the agreed spot at the agreed time. We walked a few hundred metres to the Rīga Central Market - in hindsight, I think the point of this was so that we could see all of the halls and understand their geographical context (although at the time I wished we’d just met on-site)! Liga provided an overview of the halls and their social/cultural history, which was interesting, and then took us through the outdoor food/clothing/flower markets and the indoor meat/fish/cheese markets. We especially enjoyed the pierogi (which is like a bread with pork or cheese baked inside) and the sweet treats. Liga was able to answer all our questions, both about the market/Latvian food and about Latvian history and culture more broadly. She was clearly knowledgeable, organised and easy to get along with. Two suggestions: perhaps meeting closer to the market, and perhaps asking about allergies/intolerances in advance so they can be accommodated. We felt very guilty that we couldn’t eat the raw fish which was on the menu, and even though my friends and I were the only people in our group, Liga seemed a bit reluctant to change the raw-fish-eating plan!
