an excursion not to be missed from Rhode. - Easy online reservation on the boat website or on the quay. Transfer from the hotel is included and very well organized. The island is small and beautiful. The guided tour of the village is quite commercial. For your purchases and meals at the best prices (especially sponges) it is preferable to contact other traders. Depending on the option chosen, the boats take you to the other end of the island because the interior road is very winding and you risk missing the boats and having to wait until the next day!

Picturesque Trip - This was by far our favourite trip to go on during our holiday. Booking online was very easy and we received information promptly that was clear. Pick up was a short walk from our hotel and was fantastic. The driver was informative and again the guides were informative after we got off. On the boat we got a seat at the very top on the front. It was a magnificent view travelling to the island of Symi although I highly recommend bringing a jacket or cardigan as the wind was quite cold at times. The journey was smooth sailing and we didn’t hit many bumps but did get sprayed a couple of times by the sea. You head to Panormitis Monastery first and the view is utterly spectacular. It’s a beautiful small village with a cafe. It was lovely going into the monastery and seeing it so well looked after. You can also get small/big candles to light for a small donation. You do, however, get given a shawl if you’re a lady with some skin exposed so be prepared - they’re very polite about it however. We took a little walk up and down the harbour on both sides and the water is so clear. You can see all the fish in the water and we even got to see a sea turtle! It was an incredible experience. The boat then took us to St George’s Bay which is picturesque. As we went in October you don’t stop but I believe earlier in the year they do stop there to allow you to take a dip. We then headed for Symi which is idyllic. The colourful houses are breathtaking and make for incredible pictures. There’s lots of shops and restaurants and you’re given a map recommending some walks. We mainly walked up and down the harbour, stopped for food and ice cream and did some light shopping. We would highly recommend the Kavos restaurant which has tables right on the edge of the harbour. Their seafood is delicious. The journey back was smooth sailing again and the coach transfer was there ready. Drop off was at the same point of pickup. We would highly recommend this trip to others. It was amazing.

stunning - superb they even if a crazy crowd, you have to leave the small main port. on the other hand the time on the island is a little too long even when walking around.
