Additional Information

Sick of joining large tour groups to explore Iceland? This individual audio tour is just what you need! Explore the city of Reykjavik leisurely and at your own pace.

The tour initiates from Reykjavik’s most prominent landmark: Hallgrimskirkja, a well-known church, and wraps up at the opposite end of the city center near the office of the Prime Minister. The voice assistant will walk you through the transformation of Reykjavik from a Viking settlement to a thriving modern capital. You’ll see local treasures and popular sites, with the tour’s audio automatically playing at just the right time and place thanks to your smartphone’s GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app. The tour is entirely offline once downloaded.

To start the tour, launch it on the app, put your cell phone in your pocket, and let your guide show you around. The whole walking tour is roughly 4km and takes about 1.5-2 hours without breaks, but you’re free to stop whenever you like! After the tour, we’ll recommend a few local spots where you can indulge in our local cuisine and beverages.

Informative and easy to follow. - This guide was great! Easy to follow, clear instructions and a good level of information and interest. We saw a lot of the city, learned about what we were looking at and really enjoyed it. It took us about 3 hours, walking, stopping to look and listen, stopping for a coffee in a recommended café and enjoying going round at our own pace.

What a brilliant way to explore a new place. - What a brilliant way to explore a new place. I found the tour informative and the app design/interactions brilliant. Knowing where I was and if I ventured off path was a great advantage over other audio only tours.

Exploring the Northern Margins. - Fascinating landscape, friendly people and interesting culture. One caveat, the odds are against you seeing a strong display of the Northern Lights. We stayed in a hotel, (The Muli,) seif service, Obliging staff in particular Alexandra.
