Perlan, A Must See Museum - Perlan is a fabulous museum. We particularly enjoyed the ice cave and the planetarium show. We were disappointed that we were not going to see the northern lights when we were in Iceland , but this show gave us a small taste of what it must be like.

An exciting visit! / An exciting visit! - The price may seem high but the visit is as beautiful as it is informative! I particularly liked the film on the Northern Lights in the planetarium which was splendid! Only one downside perhaps: although I loved the visit to the Ice Cave, its existence perhaps seemed a little contradictory with the environmental message present in the museum... Don’t miss this one! - Was recommended by a friend so we thought we’d spend a couple of hours there. Ended up by 5.5 hours! Exceeded expectations. Feel so much more informed but in a great way. The subtle smell during the volcano film screening. The ice cave (-15 so wrap up). Microscopic view of what’s in a glacier!!!! The revolving seating area in the cafe/restaurant on the upper floor. 360 observation deck. Great day out.

Worth the trip if you have a few free hours! - We had a free day and one of our tour operators. Dave highly recommended this museum and we’re not really museum people. We enjoyed every experience and opportunity offered and loved every moment of it.

Must see!! - This is the absolute best way to spend a rainy day in Reykjavík . This is a very well done museum that gives one a better appreciation for the natural beauty and wonder of Iceland.

If it's a nice day, take a stroll from CDB or main hostel/tourgroup hotel area to the Dome - Just saw the sketch of the building on a tourist map and thought, what's that place? So looked it up, thought I like ice caves, volcanoes, wildlife and movies, I want to go here. You don't need to book tickets online like the website sort of implies, you can just buy them when you arrive. I had no idea how long it takes to walk there so didn't want to be trapped into a time (note the staff member when I got there told me you can just book a later time and show it at the counter and they can let you in now). Since the online price is cheaper than the rock up price, I just used the free-wifi there to get online and bought my ticket online and showed the phone to the admission counter. I also had wondered if they gave a HI/YHA discount, they don't. But the place is pretty good, a little overhyped (more so the view from the top part, as well as museum than the ice cave, volcano film, and dome 360 degree film about the Northern Lights. You actually get a QR code on a chocolate when you leave to rewatch these films later. Unfortunately mine fell out of my pocket on the way back to the hostel (although I had eaten the chocolate, which was yummy). For the price they could have maybe included a sample spoon of ice cream, most people would then likely have bought the theme parked priced ice cream afterwards anyway. There is also a restaurant on top of the observation deck level but since I didn't win the lottery, I didn't dine there. It took about twenty minutes to walk here from Laekur Hostel. You'd probably add another ten minutes maybe if walking from CDB.

Worth - Very careful when approaching the geothermalism of the island. Several rooms with very interesting videos and an immersive experience in a recreated ice cave. Quite oriented to the school public. I liked.

3D Cinema of Iceland's Nature - The entrance fee is very expensive and the experience is of course not the same as if you were to discover the Northern Lights yourself or see an active volcano. You are not allowed to take photos of beautiful pictures. It is comparable to a 3D cinema

Mixed - Very nice museum, lots of explanations of details and technologies! The past films are also very beautiful and very informative. However, for the price paid, I would have liked to have had a guided tour or an audio guide. It really would have been more more. We didn't understand the principle of the sliding doors hidden behind the reception, it's very pretty but a shame because you can look for them for a long time before finding them. The staff is very friendly and guided us well.

Give it a miss - I had high expectations before visiting but unfortunately the museum didn’t live up the hype. I guess it’s targeted more at kids but the only thing I enjoyed was the ice cave.
