The best experience - Hello, first I would like to say that I don't like taking private tours. But due to the special conditions of climate, soil, wind, volcano, for safety reasons I opted for 2 tours with Arctic Adventure. And they were the most beautiful and surreal walks. I know 53 countries around the world and most of them I took on my own. However, as previously mentioned, Iceland requires extra care if you want to visit stunning and inaccessible places with a 4WD car. The first trip was to see the Northern Lights, and the driver was incredible, fun, with a great vibe and I had the most beautiful lights that I couldn't even imagine, with green and pink auroras. The second tour was at the Katla Ice Cave. The place is surreal, it felt like I was in a science fiction film. It was fantastic. I 100% recommend tours with them, not to mention that they have a great price.

Amazing experience finding the Northern Lights with Bjarni - On our third night out, our tour guide Bjarni was able to help us find the Northern Lights by using satellite images to track the clouds and find, not one but two locations where we could see the lights! It was a truly amazing experience. He clearly has tons of experience leading these tours and finding the lights, and it shows! With a different guide, we easily could have missed the lights. I’ll be recommending this tour, and specifically Bjarni, to friends who come here! Also Nastasia with the booking office helped me get rebooked on this tour even though initially I was told it was full! Great service all around and will definitely use them again in Iceland.

great service - great service. I know it doesn't depend on the company to see the lights or not, but our guide thrived to made it possible. Drove like 5o0 minutes outside of Reykjavik to an isolated field. Driver-guide managed to get some decent pictures. Offered us warm chocolate. I would take it again

Great Experience, Excellent Service - We had a great experience. The first day we went out and didn't see any lights because of the clouds. It was surprisingly easy to rebook two days later for free. The second time we saw the lights! Our guide, Bjarnis, was truly wonderful. He took us to two spots to get the best experience. He took pictures for us, made us hot cocoa, and handed out chocolate treats. We felt that he really tried to give us a great experience. Pick up was prompt, bus was comfortable.

Nice guides not great locations - The tour guides were lovely but the first location was a car park on the side of the motorway. I would ask on arrival what is the best night to go chasing the Northern lights

Good experience - It was an amazing experience as we were fortunate enough to witness the northern lights. The guide drove us along different routes and stopped when there was activity in the sky. We were really hoping to receive a few photos with a professional camera, but unfortunately, the pictures taken by the guide turned out dark and very blurry.

I would like to say the... - I would like to say the trip itself was very good, but I would like to say that I was told over live chat to be on bus stop 1 at 8.00 which we were, the bus did not pick us up until 8.50 so we were waiting in -4 weather for nearly an hour.

Magical Auroras - Northern Lights Mini Bus tour - This was a VERY disappointing experience, I completely understand that this is not a guaranteed sighting by any means. However, the driver was not really interested in looking for the best spot to find Northern Lights instead he was going for what was convenient, which was about 10 mins away from the airport, in an area full of HOUSES lit up with Christmas decorations! Despite what the aurora forecast said he insisted that we stay in that spot. It was very cold and windy so we stayed in the minibus for almost 2 hours waiting. From the start there were other passengers that voiced out their concerns of the chosen area based on what they were seeing on the aurora tracker, we were too far south we needed to go north in order to get clearer skies. One of the passengers was very upset because this was his second time and we were going to the same spot he had unsuccessfully visited to a few days ago with another driver. Our driver didn’t want to hear what the other passengers were saying. There were a few other minibuses that were but eventually left either to go home or look for a better spot. As for that free re-booking if you don’t get to see anything the first trip… good luck! Sure you can re-book if they have availability and if it still fits your schedule. Even though I left time to do this in our schedule, they did not have space for 2 other dates I tried to re-book and the day before our tour already got cancelled because of the snow. They said we have up to a year to re-book and it’s transferable but realistically we will never use it nor would we recommend this to anyone even if it’s free! We paid almost $300 for 2 adults + 1 adults, we definitely felt ripped off. In the end since we also had a car we went on our own, we caught a glimpse of it but still way better than going on a tour if you are able to.

Poor Customer Service - I had a very poor experience with both arctic adventures and their customer service. We specifically opted for this tour over other options because we were eager to capture stunning photographs of the Northern Lights. However, to our dismay, all the photos taken of us during the tour turned out to be blurry and unusable. This was incredibly disappointing because we wanted good quality photos for the amount we paid for the tour. We would have chosen a $60 tour vs a $95 tour if we knew this ahead of time. I understand that capturing the Northern Lights can be challenging, especially for non-professional photographers. My friend and I both have Iphones and were never instructed by our guide how to use them or how to adjust any settings. We relied on the camera of Arctic Adventures to capture this once in a life time experience. However, there was a lack of clarity provided beforehand regarding the limitations and factors affecting the photo quality. Had we been better informed, we could have adjusted our expectations accordingly. I would recommend choosing another tour company where you can get the same experience for less money. This could have been resolved if Arctic Adventures provided us with a second tour opportunity but they were “unable” to offer another booking. Extremely disappointing.

Don't book! Better off searching yourself - Didn't like the tour at all. We were stopped at a spot to watch northern lights that showed up as grey clouds to our eyes but on photo it was coming green. It was total waste of money and time. Tried to seek a refund or partial refund and was said no, only was provided an option to see another time in 12 months which doesn't help as I won't be visiting Iceland again. I won't recommend this tour company and you maybe better of looking yourself talk to locals and find spots on Google where you can go and there are apps. This tour was a complete waste of money and customer service also doesn't help if you don't see them as they claim it to be a natural phenomenon.
