This exclusive tour lasts approximately 2 hours, departing from Reykjavik’s old harbor on luxurious boats, either Rósin or Andrea. Enjoy breathtaking views of the capital’s beautiful coastline as you head out to find the northern lights. In just 15-30 minutes, you’ll reach an ideal spot away from city lights, perfect for aurora viewing.
Please note that this tour is highly dependent on favorable weather conditions. Cancellations may occur if conditions are not suitable.
When the northern lights forecast is promising but it’s too windy for a sea excursion, guests will be taken on a small private bus tour to chase the lights on land. They will also be offered a spot on the next available northern lights cruise at no extra cost.

Don't give up! - If you wish to see the Northern Lights, do your homework on the forecast, book it on day 1 of your stay and keep trying. I tried this tour 2 times (free of charge on the 2nd as we didn't saw it initially) and it didn't disappoint. Our guide was fantastic and she took amazing pics (credits to her!). Great crew too!

Great time, excited crew, good safety - Wonderful time, excellent at communication when cancelling for bad weather and making it clear what our options were. Most importantly we saw the northern lights!! The guide was constantly watching the skies, telling us about what is common to see in the harbour in regards to the lights. And seemed just as excited as us to see them moving. It was safe at all times, they had all important labels like where the life vests were very well labeled. I didn't buy anything but many people around us got a drink and had a very smooth experience. We also got warnings before a swell from another boat was going to make things rocky. As they said their photos were much clearer than mine and it was an easy process to download them. As is true for any kind of whale watching or northern lights tour book it for the first night you are in town and then keep that time slot flexible so it can be cancelled for weather /get another boat for lack of seeing it.

Wonderful natural phenomenon - Had booked the Northern Lights cruise on our first night in Reykjavik to allow us have another opportunity to go if weather was not good/ trip cancelled etc. Fortunately we were in luck as we sailed out of the harbour on the ‘Andrea’ on what was a calm night with great clear skies. Tour takes about 2 hours as you have to go out sufficiently to escape the city lights. For the first hour we were treated to a fabulous natural light show across the sky….it is hard to describe how beautiful it was…..superb!. Skies then clouded over somewhat but our guide was really good and kept us informed on many aspects of Icelandic life/ tradition on our way back. We met some people later in the week who had tried in vain to see the Northern Lights…..would certainly recommend going out early in your trip to allow for nature.

Wonderful sighting of Auroras - The tour was one of the most special experiences I made during my visit to Iceland. Seeing the auroras from the sea and with complete darkness is something incredible. The boat was comfortable, and the guide had an excellent sense of humor and shared a lot of very interesting information.
I recommend it, especially if you’re looking to do aurora hunting in a different way or if you’ve already done the sighting by bus or road.

Fun way to see the Northern Lights - Fantastic way to view the Northern Lights. We really enjoyed the boat ride out of the harbor. We them stopped and spent time looking up at the sky and seeing these amazing colore. I highly recommend the Northern Lights Boat Cruise

We saw the lights!! - We booked for fri, it was canx, we rebooked for sat, easy process. Kept well informed
V full boat, so not much room to move outside, but we saw the lights! Great movement and v hapoy group

Good both trip with knowledgeable guide - Very good boat trip with excellent guide who told us all about the northern lights. Only problem was that the boat was very full as previous two evenings it had been cancelled due to bad weather

Ok - Overly ambitious about seeing the lights. They have a limited range to go where the lights are. A bus tour might be better

Good trip with a very informative guide - We got to see the Northern Lights and got very good information and advice from the tour guide. The only problem was that the boat was very crowded as the previous two nights tours had been cancelled.

Saw the lights! Great crew! - Had amazing time! Saw the lights and crew was amazing. We gave 4/5 because I felt boarding could have been better organized and the boat ran out of waffle mix which was included in our package
