Top tour to terrific tides - Elafonissi is a beautiful beach, and Markidis ensured that our trip there from Rethymnon was comfortable and enjoyable. The price of the excursion was only €25pp, which includes the ~2.5 hour coach journey (each way), 4 hours at the beach, and brief stops for refreshments on both the outbound and return legs of the journey. During the coach ride out, Yanis kept us thoroughly informed with his expert local knowledge while the driver smoothly handled even the harshest of roads. There were spectacular views of some incredible gorges, worthy of an excursion in their own right. The beach itself was lovely. After crossing the waist-high water separating the initial beach and the island, we continued round and found a lovely isolated spot. The water was so clear it was like looking at tap water, and with so much marine life snorkels are a necessity. We could have stayed there all day, but 4 hours did feel sufficient to enjoy the beach. Of note, there were indeed pink notes to areas of sand, but the real selling point of this beach was the clarity of water.

Elafonissi a dream - Very nice beach, water a bit cold for me but I still enjoyed it! The breaks were also very well planned for the toilet and on the way back for lunch.

A WONDER FOR THE EYES - An experience to have at least once in a lifetime. A beach, or rather two divided by a strip of sand at the end of which there is a small island, full of coves where you can go by sea where the water is even more beautiful, bathed by crystal clear waters and which leave the characteristic pink colour, which makes this lagoon famous, also for this reason. To get there, for us who were in Kissamos, it took us about 45 minutes by car, but it was worth it, there is a large paid car park and then a 10/15 minute walk. It is equipped with two bars with showers, and there are also umbrellas with sunbeds (€20), but they are few compared to the turnout, which is why I recommend arriving early in the morning, also to fully enjoy the beauty of the place and the water wonderful. A fantastic experience. I recommend it.

A great way to visit Elafonisi when it's not too busy! - Driver and tour guide were great and very informative throughout, despite some treacherous mountain roads! We went slightly off season so the beach was much quieter than during summer and probably nicer for it. We'd have preferred longer on the beach and gone without the final stop on the coach journey home, but it was a good opportunity to stop for food which is otherwise hard to find on Elafonisi. Overall, a great trip and well worth the money!

Incredible beach - An incredible excursion from start to finish. The tour guide is too notch, and funny. The road that leads to the beach is not for the faint of heart . Narrow road and plenty of curves, the driver was incredible. Do not look down !!! We stopped.inna small village for coffee and little bite, you are not obligated to buy anything. Once you arrive at the beach , it's an incredible view . One of the most incredible clear beaches I have ever seen. Sand has a little pink in some areas but not that much. Guide suggested to go further away from main beach to have more privacy and he was spot on. We had our own private beach with 2 other couples. Water is Christal clear and big rocks , make it seem like your in the wild. Breath taking. I recommend to go.

Markidis offers a great service with lovely guide and driver - My son and I chose to do the Elafonisi Tour with Markidis Travel and are more than happy about the absolute problemfree and reliable service. Our 5 stars are given because of the service, especially our guide Anastasia and the driver Costas. They both were absolute great, always helpful, understanding and really lovely. The short stop at Agia Sophia was wonderful and also the break at a tavern on our way back was nice. When it comes to Elafonisi beach itself,I have to say that it was even worse than expected. I knew it before that it is an absolute tourist hotspot but what we experience was a little hell to be honest (even if the water is like paradise). But when it comes to Markidis Travels I would recomend them anytime to anyone and say: Efcharistó poly from Elias & Alexandra

Worth it for amazing beach! - Tour was good, tour guide was lovely and so friendly. Only downside to our particular trip is that the Balos tour was joined with ours, prolonging our trip and causing some delays and waiting mid journey. The beach was amazing, a must see. Once in a life time experience. Mid September it wasn’t too busy. The beach sun beds with umbrella were €15 for 2 beds. For the pick up, as I was unsure of this as it doesn’t say in the tour description. You can pretty much be picked up anywhere in the Chania town area. Some of our group got picked up at petrol stations, restaurants or banks near to their accommodation. We were staying in Tromarissis so we walked around 30 mins and got picked up at the Somaria Hotel in Chania but they left us to the Halepa hotel on the way home which was much closer to our accommodation. Lastly we stopped at a small restaurant on the way home for 1hr. Food was great and not too expensive. Served very quickly also. There’s plenty of time to swim, sunbathe, eat and drink at the beach. Around a 4hr stay so plenty of time to chill. Overall, good day out, amazing views on the journey of the mountains and beach, lovely tour guide but be wary of the long bus journey! Around 6/7 hrs on the bus.
