Great Regansburg Tour - Our tour guide provided a Nice explanation of Regansburg. She told us about the significant history from the Roman times up to today. We visited several cafe/shops, churches, the college and mentioned the university’s excitement to “bring new life to Regansburg”. City Hall has a history. Oh how I can relate to this part of the tour — especially working for a US City Hall! Excited to hear the Mayor performs marriages. Since this was a personal tour she provided visits to “in home” chapels; which was a great surprise. Also learned about Danube River’s importance for trade and the first stone bridge allowing crossing year round. Enjoyed our two hour+ tour with Gerda-Maria!

easy to recommend,no if and but - We also had the possibility with our group of a guided tour of Regensburg (mediated by our shipping company VIVA Cruises), our guide was just great, unfortunately the name was omitted. We were introduced to secrets and history of Regensburg, whereby also the one or the other criminal anecdote could be experienced, as well as we were led into the individual alleys which are still as present in their nature as in the Middle Ages, they are now well paved, also very much historical was conveyed what happened in a very pleasant way. A very clear recommendation for interested parties to book through the organizer if possible.

A fascinating city with a history from AD90 - This city built on the site of an original Roman fort has amazing character and charm. It's location made it one of the central towns of the Empire as the permanent seat of the Imperial Diet of the Holy Roman Empire. with 1500 listed buildings in the Old Town showing am amazing cultural mix.

Great Side Trip Stop and Tour - Great tour with Daniella! We would have liked to have seen more but we covered a good deal in the two hours we had. We could tell Daniella loves her adopted city and that she has a passion for its history. It was well worth the short stop we had between our travels between Karlovy Vary and Salzburg.

Fabulous and entertaining guided tour of Regensburg - Daniela was a super guide. She is quite knowledgeable about the history of Regensburg and provided us with many fascinating facts and entertaining anecdotes. We would gladly book a tour with her again and she convinced us that we need to return to Regensburg for the Christmas market.

History from the medieval to modern times - Daniela was an amazing guide! So full of energy, enthusiasm and knowledge. The bridge was the highlight of the scenery but we were also grateful for the excellent historical context set by Daniela and the views!

This medieval city raised havoc on Jews from Middle Ages thru WWII. - Regensburg was founded as an imperial Roman fort. As part of the Holy Roman Empire, it housed the Perpetual Diet of Regensburg (Reichstag) from 1663-1806. The Stone Bridge spanning the Danube River (built around 1140) opened up trade routes between Venice and the North. The Old City Gate is at one end of this bridge. Peter the Hermit led a mob of 1st Crusaders to force mass conversion of Jews. Those who resisted were killed. Those who fled, later returned and lived in relative peace until Nov. 9, 1938 (Kristallnacht) when the Synagogue, homes and stores were destroyed and 220 Jews were arrested and deported to Dachau. Note that Regensburg, like most communities in Europe, has numerous Stumbling Stones in its streets.
