FANTASTIC TOUR IN THE ALENTEJO NATURE - Highly recommended ! During a jeep tour, this friendly family and their employees will tell you everything about cork, the best Alentejo wine and the importance of respect for everything that grows and blooms here. Our guide Celino also made everything interesting for the younger children. We enjoyed the forest, the slopes full of vines, the nice weather. Worth repeating. Thank you Philippe and Margarida!

A must do - Fascinating tour! It was just us and the guide. I learned so much about cork, its harvesting and the future of cork harvesting. Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable.

Amazing trip 😊👌🏻 - One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We had a tour with Joana and a final wine tasting. It was absolutely amazing and I’m going to repeat it afterwards 😊😊

A cork adventure with a special lbonus - Had a phenomenal experience today with Jose as our guide. The cork tree is so important to the region for reasons beyond its use as a wine bottle stopper. Very educational and of course ended with a wine, cheese, and olive oil tasting. All from the estate. Their biggest secret? Fig trees on the estate. The figs are the best part!

EXCELLENT CORK FARM EXPERIENCE - Our 4 by 4 jeep tour through this family estate of 5 generations gave us an incredible education of cork production plus their award-winning wine tasting summed up the experience. Joao was our driver guide and an archeologist knowlegible about the entire area. Joao and this herrade was the first to set up cork trekking in the area. One of the farm's family dogs joined us to add to the pleasure. We learned about cork, olive and wine harvesting. The beauty of these 1000 hectares gives you a break from the touring of historic Evora. The estate also has 2 cottages with 2 bedrooms each for overnight stays. Wine we tasted was the estate's own production and their tasting room wall displayed a multitude of awards. They have a nice terrace area as well for a larger group. This hilly cork, grape and wine farm has wonderful vistas all the way to Spain and a number of trekking trails if you have the time for walking tours. We did this last minute and did not have a car so we hired a taxi driver fluent Portugese and French with some English {Pedro - 351 964561177} to take us out from Evora to the herrade for a full day and also included visits to Estremoz and Monsaraz. We spoke French so the drivers information about Alentejo region was interesting.

Stay away from this one! - We did not receive what we booked through our travel agent. Upon arriving, we were seated in an old and very dirty Nissan four-door vehicle, and then driven to the top of the “ranch“. We proceeded to walk down a dirt road without ever once seeing a jeep. The tour lasted 2 1/2 hours (including the wine-tasting) and we were quickly ushered out when the driver reappeared. We were informed that we could have continued the walk around the cork trees, but it would have been an estimated 5 km. Since we booked a jeep tour, we were not interested in walking 5 km. I’m not sure who is responsible for this mistaken tour, but it was extremely disappointing. Further, when we attempted to at least purchase a bottle of wine, we were told by the young guide, Joana, that they were not able to sell their wines at the winery because of agreements to sell through their distributors. We feel that we missed out on what we expected to be a really nice time, were probably overcharged, and would not at all recommend this tour.
