- Gosainkunda - Lake Gosaikunda is a holy site in Nepal, otherwise referred to as “Gosainkunda,” which is of great importance to the Hindu as well as to the Buddhists. Gosaikunda Lake in the Rasuwa district is an alpine freshwater lake situated at an elevation of 4,380m, Langtang National Park. The lake surface is about 34 acres and much of the Winter season, i.e. December to Feb, is already frozen. Winter has its benefits, however. If you’re going in winter, the snow-covered atmosphere gives you a heavenly nostalgia at Gosaikunda Lake. No matter the seasons, there is something new to Gosaikunda Lake every year.
The Gosaikunda root has a direct relationship with the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata as the Samundra Manthan lake is referred to. Hindu mythology also characterizes Gosaikunda as the Hindu deity adobe Shiva and Gauri. During Gangadashahara and the Janai Purnima.

The Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour in Nepal takes off from the domestic terminal at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. It typically takes about an hour to fly from Kathmandu to Gosaikunda.
In around 15 to 17 minutes, we will arrive at Gosaikunda Lake, with a view of the scattered Tamang settlements and a flight parallel to verdant, towering hills.
Upon reaching Gosaikunda at an elevation of 4380 meters, we are presented with a dramatic mountain range and a scenic backdrop. Spending more than 30 minutes at this altitude of 4,000+ meters could potentially cause altitude sickness, but it’s not a common occurrence. So, we will take advantage of our limited time to explore and appreciate the location.
