Fort Hays Old West Town and Dinner Show - Take a ride on the one of a kind Buffalo Hunt Roller Coaster! This unique shooting gallery coaster is a unique opportunity to be able to tell your friends and family back home that you shot a buffalo while on vacation in South Dakota. Of course its a fake fiberglass buffalo, but you don’t have to tell them that if you don’t want to….
Soar over the herd of over 20 buffalo and shot at over 40 targets through out the coaster and hit at many targets as you can. Its extremely challenging since you are swinging in the air side to side while trying to aim.
When you get off the coaster you will have a score that tells you how you did. Think you are good enough to make the all time high score? There is only one way to find out!
Ticket give access to Fort Hays Dances With Wolves Film Set. Supper and Show Ticket sold separately.

In the entire globe, there’s no roller coaster quite like ours! The ride and shooting experience we offer at Fort Hays is a unique amalgamation of 3 different companies. This distinct experience guarantees amusement and perhaps even shrieks of excitement as you roll through our coaster.
The ticket also provides entry to the ‘Dances With Wolves’ Film Set at Fort Hays. Dinner and Show tickets need to be purchased independently.

fast paced action that keeps you entertained. - This was an exhilarating experience. We did the reasonably price unlimited ride option and rode for almost 2 hours. We had two adults aged 40 and two teenagers (13 and 15) and we all loved it. The ride is challenging and was still fun at the end of day as you continually get better at hitting targets. This is one of the funnest rides we've ever done. Staff was also super helpful and entertaining. We then went to the dinner show which was also amazing.

Good time for all! - Family vacation stop along the way. Great time for the kids (8 & 10), as well some fun for the grown ups. The coaster is not aggressive, but still fun and allows you to make a good competition with each other shooting targets while you ride. Lot more challenging than you think. $25 for unlimited rides. My kids got their money’s worth!
Beyond the fun, the staff was incredibly nice. All of them!

Fun time - Really fun ride. Way more intense than expected. Stick around for the dinner show! Pro tip - BYOB since they don’t have a liquor license for the show.

Awesome Experience and Service - The ride was amazing! We had such a great time and were so sad when we had to say goodbye. Not only was the ride a moment to remember but so were the people. Everyone was so kind and they made sure you were safe and had a great time. I definitely recommend you to go here! We got the unlimited pass and stopped on our way to and from our day in Custer state park. Well worth it, will be the highlight of your kids trip!

Fun for all! - Fun little coaster. Faster and more twisty (if that makes sense) than I thought it would be. Good for all ages. We were only able to ride one time (we bought an unlimited pass) because of the weather. Closed for lightning, understandably. Staff was very friendly.

Different fun - This was a lot more fun - and much more difficult -than I imagined it would be! The ride is exhilarating and then trying to shoot the target with your gun is completely at another level. We got an all day ride ticket at a discount with out Chuckwagon supper ticket so we rode for a couple hours.

Disappointed. - Kids liked (not loved) it but it was pretty disappointing for both my husband and I. Lasts maybe a minute to a minute and a half, tops.

Great Idea, Lacking in Fun - Something different to do, if you are bored, but not as fun as I expected. Prior to leaving the main loading area, both my son and I were able to hit the practice targets to calibrate our guns. When we left the loading areas, we did not hit any targets. It was cool to swing around on the coaster for about 2 minutes, but I would not do this again. The video that was taken was fairly cheesy, too. It was just a loop of my son looking bored.

Nasty and rude staff - On June 9th we went there. They had my family pay 11$ each just to tell one of them that he was to heavy to ride. They asked for a refund and they were snotty and rude and rejected the refund.
