Additional Information

Embarking on a whale watching journey along São Miguel’s North Coast offers a distinctive exploration of the seas around the Azores. We aim to recapture the essence of the activity as it was carried out in the early years of whale watching.

Initiating our journey from the north coast enables us to operate in parts of the island that are typically overlooked for such endeavours, thereby benefiting the local communities. This aids us in developing an increasingly sustainable method for conducting our operations within the scope of our island.

The moment our spotters signal the affirmation, the thrill begins! We promise sightings of large whale species including Sperm Whales.

One of the best days on island - The whole trip was amazing!! Staff was professional, kind and know a lot about dolphins and whales. We had nice weather and were very lucky because we saw two tipes of dolphins and sperm whales (three adolts and one baby). What we like the most is that our crew bring us close enough to see animals (some dolphins were swiming under our boat) but also keep the distance so that we didnt disrupt them and also make sure that all people on boat saw animals. First we reserve tour on the norden side of the island, but it was canceled, but Picos de Aventura offer us to go with them on the same day or day after on tour from south. And im very glad that we did, becouse we saw whales. If you decide to go watching whales I really recomend Picos de Aventura. Also recomend to go with a smaller boat-zodiak. It is faster, more agile and you come first to the site with animals.

Repeating! - An activity not to be missed! We saw lots of resident dolphins, and the experience on a speedboat is incredible. The whales didn't appear, but that's normal, we went in September and their sightings are starting to reduce, from what was explained to us. Cautious and respectful approach to animals in their habitat. Congratulations

Experience to remember - An unforgettable experience . We were able to see a very large group of dolphins swimming next to our boat, we were able to see sperm whales, whales and enjoy the knowledge of our guide Marc, a marine biologist who made us live the experience even more with his knowledge and respect for these animals. A luxury to repeat

Whale spotteng- we will remember this our whole lifetime! - The crew was amazing we samen different species of whales and dolphins. They took the time and showed everything with great respect for the nature. A 3 hour trip is long enough to have this beautiful experience. Thank you for making this possible. The north side has less traffic and lessen whale watchers. This makes changes groter to see whales.

Just... WOW! - The weather conditions were not the best at the beginning of the tour but then it turned out to be an amazing day! With our speed boat we were able to see dolphins, fin whales and blue whales and according to the biologist with us, that was one of the best encounters she ever had. She was very keen to explain everything to us.

No real effort to spot whales - We booked 2 tickets to go whale watching for 3 hours, but unfortunately, we felt that there wasn't much effort from the crew to make it happen. We arrived at the first location where we saw a few "blows," and then they announced that due to the presence of many other boats, we would be changing locations. Finally, I thought, we will see the whales! But no... another hour or so of sailing to see dolphins. Okay, it was nice, they were friendly and swam around the boat... But what about the whales? And to top it off, they told us to take our last photos of the dolphins because we were heading back to land... What about the whales? (I thought again). Well, there were no more whales. I understand that being free and wild animals, they cannot always be seen the way people would like, but we felt that there was no effort made to address this situation! :( To make matters worse, we arrived on land 30 minutes before our tour was supposed to end, and no explanation was given. Couldn't we have used those 30 minutes to search for more whales? We were truly disappointed with this approach to the tour.
