In the afternoon, continue to Lung Khuy Cave, located just 20km from the city, to marvel at this natural wonder. Spend around 2 hours exploring the cave at your leisure. Return to Quan Ba Town for dinner and an overnight stay at a Dzao homestay, with free time to unwind before the next day’s adventures.
Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van (≈130km)
Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark - Start your day with the serene sounds of the mountainous countryside. After checking out, prepare to reach Vietnam’s northernmost frontier. Drive about 60km to Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, an ideal spot for capturing stunning photographs. En route, visit Vuong Palace, once home to Vuong Trinh Duc, the H’Mong King who led 70,000 H’Mong people in the region.
Continue your journey through Ma Le, known as the ‘one-eyed ghost’ area, to reach Lung Cu, the northernmost point of Vietnam and home to the Lo Lo ethnic minority. After exploring, head to Dong Van for a late lunch and some relaxation at the hotel.
Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Du Gia (≈110km)
Dong Van - If visiting Dong Van on a Sunday morning, don’t miss the vibrant weekly market, where local ethnic minorities gather. Experience the bustling trade of buffalos, cows, and chickens, and admire the colorful traditional clothing stalls.
Ma Pi Leng Pass - Leave the market and drive for about 30 minutes to Ma Pi Leng Pass, offering one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking mountain views. Between the cliffs, observe the peaceful Nho Que River winding through the landscape. Trek along a H’mong path on Ma Pi Leng Pass, then continue to Meo Vac town for a well-deserved lunch at a local eatery.
Du Gia - Journey through hills to Du Gia National Park, home to a Tay ethnic community. After a 3-hour drive, arrive at Du Gia Village to relax, enjoy a home-cooked dinner, and stay overnight at a Tay homestay.
Du Gia – Lung Tam Village – Ha Giang (≈130km)
Lung Tam Village - Visit Lung Tam Village, renowned for its H’Mong residents and their linen production and weaving. Travel back to Quan Ba before concluding your loop in Ha Giang city. Enjoy your final tour lunch at a local restaurant.
After returning the bikes, extend your experience with a visit to a Tay village near the Ha Thanh waterfall for a refreshing break. Return to Hanoi the next day by Limousine bus (hotel not included) or Sleeper bus.
