You can't leave Quito without experiencing this market tour and cooking class! - From start to finish, we had such a a fantastic time. The tour of the Central Market was fascinating and we got to sample some absolutely delicious Ecuadorian fruits and juices. And then the cooking class experience was just the best. We were welcomed with such warmth and we felt right at home. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Quito. My wife and I have done cooking classes in Thailand, South Africa, and now in Ecuador, and this cooking class was definitely our favorite!

Lovely private cooking class with very tasty food! - My husband and I were looking for a small cooking class and if you are interested in the same I would highly recommend this one if you are in Quito! It ended up being just us two which was great. Apparently they like to keep the groups small as well. Andres picked us up from our hotel in the morning. There are multiple times to choose from which was nice if you want an early start or a bit later. He toured us around the market, we sampled fruits and juice and herbs. Then we went to a small kitchen in the old downtown area and cooked with his wife and her friend. It’s situated next to a peaceful, quiet little courtyard with a water fountain. I’m not sure if the dishes vary depending on the day but we made a hot fruit drink, ceviche, potato soup, snacks and fried plantains. All of the food was so tasty and could be seasoned more or less to our liking. The best part was being able to ask questions and make conversation. And of course the final lunch at the end! Certainly take a few hours of your time to try this and take home some easy to replicate recipes!

So glad we did this class! - We had a really amazing time, thanks to Andras, Silvia & Manila!! We got to tour the market with Andras seeing lots of fruits & vegetables they have & wish we did too at our neighborhood market in Utah! Then we learned to cook several fun recipes AND we will be able to make them for our friends at home! It was a great time learning about the foods of Ecuador! Be sure to do this class in a wonderful place in the historic area while you are in Quitos!

- We had an absolutely wonderful time at this cooking class. The team picked us up directly from our hotel and took us to the Mercado Central in Quito. There we were able to try a delicious drink of Andean blackberry and guanabana, some delicious street food (mote), and buy fruit as well as other supplies for the cooking class. We were then brought to a beautiful patio in the old city of Quito. This was a very historic area where we saw the extremely well-preserved neighborhood and saw what Spain must have looked like hundreds of years ago. At the cooking school, we were given chef hats and aprons and got to work. The head chef, Magola, was excellent. She described every step of the process and why she used specific cooking techniques. We really appreciated this as we have been trying to make some of these dishes at home but with little success. They prepared a delicious Ecuadorian drink called canela so. We had Abbas Ecuadorian fava beans and potatoes as the appetizer. We had shrimp ceviche and a delicious locro de papa, which is a very traditional Ecuadorian potato soup. Dessert was a selection of prepared Andean strawberries and peaches. This was a wonderful experience and a true respite in our stay in this hectic capital. We would recommend this for everyone and for all families. We look forward to coming soon again.

Great experience! - The market tour was exactly what I was looking for. Andres showed me local and indigenous fruits and produce that I have never seen before. The home-cooking class was great and I am looking to incorporate some of the dishes and ingredients into my own cooking. This experience was well coordinated and they even helped me with arranging transport back to the airport. Thank you!

If You Like to Try New Recipes, this is for you. - I cannot recommend this experience enough. My family has done cooking classes in Spain, Paris and now Equador and this one was light years better. We made a complete meal with two local chefs. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating.

Great Local Experience - It was just my husband and me. We had a great time. It’s very casual and family-like. Andres, Sylvia and Margola were fantastic. Loved the market tour, we tried fruits and juices. The meal preparation was fun and we left with an online recipe book and photo album. Great half-day activity. It was like spending the day with local friends rather than a tour group.

Best cooking class ever - Everything about the experience was perfect. We were picked up from our airbnb and the market visit was eye opening with all their fruit and vegetables being available all year round due to being on the equator. The venue for the class was in a gorgeous old colonial house. The food we prepared was all so fresh and healthy and different from what we serve in Australia. We had to get a cab back to the airbnb because we were so full at the end of it. It was like a family gathering. Very comfortable and personal
