The journey begins early as you depart from your Quito-based lodgings. We head north to the Earth’s mid-point, pausing briefly at the Equatorial Monument. As we continue our travel, you’ll witness small settlements like Calacali and Nanegalito. Upon reaching the environmental sanctuary of Mindo (elevated at 1,300 meters), known for its rich biodiversity and as a haven for bird enthusiasts, you’ll be immersed in a host of distinctive activities. These include canopy walks, rappelling, tubbing, a tour of a chocolate factory, trekking to waterfalls and exploring an orchid garden, this is a great amount of ecotourism owed to the wealth of cloud forest, flora and fauna. After an exhilarating day, we head back to Quito.

I highly recommend this tour company! - Wonderful fun and knowledgable local guide. As a private tour he was able to taper and adjust timing to our interests. Wast able to explain and discuss geology, flora, fauna, politics, you name it. Very good driver with extremely comfortable transportation. Used same company for the Middle of the Earth and Quito City tour with very similar outcome and experiences,

Beautiful Mindo! - We had a perfect day trip to Mindo! I was traveling with my two sons (8 and 5) and we loved every excursion! We went to see hummingbirds first, which was incredible. We then took the cable car into the cloud forest and hiked to a waterfall. Throughout the hike our guide kept the kids engaged with information about the plants and vines, he did such a great job tailoring the hike to their interests. Our last stop was a chocolate tour. The tour was very interactive and we got to see the process from the cacao seed all the way through making the chocolate bar. We sampled a dozen types of chocolate accompanied by fresh fruit, hot chocolate, and a decadent brownie. Our guide and driver were fantastic! My kids are asking when they can go back!
