Located 8 miles northwest of Quito city, capital of the Ecuadorian Republic, The Middle of the World or Equator Line is the most visited tourist attraction in the country. Due to its privileged geographical location, it has become a tourist magnet, where visitors can learn more about ancestral knowledge, nature and science. The city of the middle of the world is a perfect time to enjoy a half-day tour with fun activities. There is much controversy about which is the true middle of the world, since in this area, there are at least 4 places that boast of having the true equator line, I invite you to bring your GPS and check it out on your own.
To this tour you can add on optionals activities such as a walking tour in Quito, Teleferico (cable car) or birdwatching with additional cost.

Marcelo was a great tour guide - The grandkids really enjoyed doing all the experiments at the Equator. Marcelo kept everyone engaged and present with his knowledge of not just the tour but Ecuadorian history.

We had a great time on... - We had a great time on this half-day tour in the Middle of the World. Our guide, Marcelo, was very informative and open to suggestions. He is a fluent English speaker and a former museum guide. He also made some recommendations on places to see and food options around Old Town Quito.

Great half-day tour - We all really enjoyed this half day trip. You will see a town in an volcano crater and then the pre-GPS equator line which is in a "park" with a small museum, exhibits and shops. Then you go to the real equator which also has many interesting things to see and do.

Mitad Del Mundo with Eduardo - This was a great way to start my trip to Quito as I always wanted to see the Middle of the World (both of them). Eduardo was an excellent tour guide. He was timely and even communicated with me before the tour to prepare. He even reminded me to bring my passport so that I can get it stamped on the Equator. We also stopped by the Pululahua crater and Eduardo gave me some great insight about Quito and surrounding areas. He also took good pictures of me as I was traveling solo. I would highly recommend this tour to Mitad Del Mundo.

Our Mitad del Mundo private tour - This is the first time I ever had a private tour and it was worth it. La Mitad del Mundo is unique place and our tour guide Marcelo was very knowledgeable and made the tour even more interesting with facts about the place. Marcelo picked us up at our hotel at the time specified and was very flexible when we asked him to drop off at our next event - the Turibus. If you are short of time but enjoy a private tour experience, I recommend this tour.

Great way to see several interesting sites in a short time - I usually try to avoid private tours but this one was great. Eduardo confirmed the pickup time and location in advance and arrived right on time. The tour included several stops and Eduardo added colour and background to all of them as well as places that we passed along the way. He even found an ATM when I realized I had to pay cash for everything and didn't have enough. My favourite part of the tour was the Intinan Museum - probably because I am a science nerd.

The Middle of the World Half-Day Tour - Eduardo was recommended by our hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about not only Quito, but also other regions of Ecuador. The tour was tailored to our interest and to the abilities of the travelers to walk vs. ride, while acclimating to the altitude (having come from sea level). Often tours are scripted and scheduled, but Eduardo was very flexible in customizing the tour based on our interests. We have recommended this tour to others that are planning to visit Ecuador.
