Additional Information

We will be venturing into this significant zone of Holbox where various species of animals peacefully dwell in this ecosystem. The ideal period to explore is just as dawn breaks, when different animals may be resting, having been more active during the nighttime, such as crocodiles. It’s a time of solitude without other people, providing a chance to appreciate private moments amid a varying display of nature. Unusual and exotic birds are likely to emerge during our rowing session, and the cooler temperatures make it ideal for paddling through the maze of mangroves. We’ll get to experience the mesmerising colours of the sunrise at the beginning of our adventure and even spot some stars before the first light of day. So, prepare yourself to be engrossed in nature as we step into the mangroves that resonate with the energy and engagement with nature, witness the hues of the flamingos’ feathers, and immerse yourself in this wild experience.

Unmissable experience - What an incredible experience! First of all, huge thanks to the tour operator who went above and beyond for us! My girlfriend and I had misread the pick-up point information and were not in the right spot - completely our fault, no doubt. After a quick call (made somewhat difficult by an unstable internet connection), the tour operator was quick to communicate our position to the tour guide, who promptly picked us up. I don't know the name of the person we talked to, but if you're reading this: THANK YOU! Our guide for the actual excursion was the wonderful Carlos: patient, very prepared, knowledgeable and funny. He didn't rush us at all, we took our time enjoying the surroundings, the stunning mangroves and wildlife. We were lucky enough to see flamingos (even though it's not the right season), stingrays, a crocodile and lots of wonderful birds. I can't recommend this experience and this tour operator enough! Book with them, you won't be disappointed!

Great experience - It was a magical experience. From Diego's pick up until the end of the tour. Carlos' attention and explanations were incredible. Despite not being good at handling the kayak, the help from Carlos and his company was very pleasant. I would definitely take it again.

Nature and wildlife joy - We saw four crocodiles, flamingoes and an array of other bird wildlife, all in the calms of the day as the sun rose! Diego and Carlos were great.

Tour of a Lifetime: a MUST in your Holbox trip - The sunset kayaking experience in Mongroves was absolutely incredible. Diego and Carlos collected us and made us feel super excited for the tour, and incredibly safe despite the fact we might see some crocodiles. We were lucky enough to see a medium large crocodile on the sandbank, that didn’t approach us given Carlos’ clear guidance on how to be still and gentle with our movements. We also saw cownose rays, horse shoe crabs, all kinds of herons, ospreys, red crabs and more. We saw some pink flamingos on the 3 islands tour which you can see in the Mongroves in the right season. They provided life jackets, lovely local fruit and water. They spoke perfect English and shared lots on the history of Holbox and answered any questions we had. Best day of our holiday - and we did Chichen Itza, 3 Islands tour, cenotes, and a lot more.

The tour got cancelled but they didn't tell us and won't refund us - We woke up at 5.30 am to be picked up at our hotel for 6am, but the tour operator no-showed. We texted them to ask how long they'd be. No response. We waited until 6.30 before realizing they were not coming. Aside from the initial purchase email that confirmed they'd pick us up from our hotel, we received ZERO communication from this company. Nothing the day before, nothing the morning of, no reply to our message, and no apology. Nothing. We tried to claim a refund through Tripadvisor / Viator, and they refused. Apparently the tour operator claimed they spoke with us to reschedule to the following day. This did not happen - as I said there was no communication whatsover. Right now it seems like the only way to get our money back is to charge a refund. Thanks for making us get up at 5.30am for nothing. Absolute sh*t show of a company.

Awful experience - Awful experience as they simply didn’t show up to the meeting point + they didn’t answered to the phone when I tried to reach them at 6am! Worst experience of my holidays!!!

Disappointment up to and including a slow journey - With only one instructor and many boats, the pace was far too slow. The slowest set the pace and the beautiful sunrise was therefore not reached on time. It started when we were picked up too late, which meant we didn't arrive at the location on time. Boats were late in the water and due to the long wait you lost the flow and got punctured. In addition, the instructor did not indicate that there were sandbanks that you had to pay close attention to and he knew little about the area. All in all, nice together, but a big disappointment for the price and quality of the organization.
