Highlight of our trip! - It was an incredible excursion! Manny explained everything so much that we felt extremely protective of this fantastic place. We look forward to visiting again (and going to a different part of the Secret River)

Highly recommend - Highly recommend. My wife and kids (8 and 10) were in awe. This is an experience you can’t get anywhere else. I’m really glad we decided to do this activity. I’ve been in caves in the US, but in the US, you can’t get up close and personal like this. Also, the guides were excellent - Gaby was great! The lunch buffet was actually really good. I’m used to pretty crummy ones. There was fresh fruit, chicken for tacos, pasta, rice, bean, rice pudding and homemade corn tacos. I saw a lot of complaints about the cost of the photos. It is indeed $120USD for all or $30USD each. This is pretty typical pricing for this sort of thing. If you’ve ever done the dolphin encounter, it is pretty similar pricing - if not cheaper. Except at the dolphin encounter the photographer is just standing there snapping pictures. Here, the photographer has to suit up and traverse the caves with you while running ahead to capture pictures as people come along.

Excellent day tour with Gustavo and Hector - We returned to Rio Secretos for another visit and loved the entire day. We did the Plus experience tour including walking the dry cave, bike riding, repelling into the top of the wet cave/ cenote and swimming through the rest of the cave. We had an excellent guide Gustavo and an excellent professional photographer Hector, who were very kind and helpful the whole time. We purchased the photos afterwards because they were stunning. We had a wonderful meal in their new restaurant area afterwards. The round-trip transportation was excellent and we appreciated how well we were cared for all day. We look forward to returning again.

Just Wow - loved every minute of it - What an experience! The caves were very impressive, with a variety of spectacular formations. David was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the caves and was very patient with us all! As a part of our package, wetsuits (optional), water shoes, life jackets, and helmets were provided. Buffet after was good. Only shame was we couldn't take our own photos which is understandable but to get memories of our experience we had to pay for photos.

Subterranean Wonderland! - We've done several good cenote adventures in the past. Each have their own character and beauty. Rio Secreto, however, is on a different level. The main attraction is not strictly a cenote, but a cave system that contains cenotes. The size of the cave system and the historical import of the site are without peer, having been studied and documented by research scientists and specials filmed by Nat Geo. A number of different tour options are available depending upon your needs and desires.

Amazing! - Rio secreto was the best day of our vacation in Mexico!!! Beautiful and interesting. Our guide Tainara was a pearl! She took great care of us, she was just amazing! They brought us to the Tulum ruins first and then visit the cave and some great food at the end. The cave was an amazing experience! 5 star is not enough! I give 1000 🌟! Will go back one day for sure. Gracias amiga!

NOT TO BE MISSED!!! - A spectacular adventure combining unique underground cave/water views, with just the right amount of anticipation for “what was around the corner” . Our team of Driss/Pato were not only incredibly knowledgeable but equally passionate about the ecology we experienced, all the while stressing safety first.. Although there were several small groups they made us feel we were one extended family. Lastly, even being a non swimmer, I never felt any concern when in the river! Enjoy

What a great opportunity - It was quite an experience to be able to go into these subterranean caves. The crew and organizers were very efficient, friendly and we felt very safe. Our guide Aaron was super friendly and informative at caves and Tulum ruins. He really took care of us when a member of our group was worried. What a beautiful day. Lunch was awesome.

A wonderful flood to the senses!!! - I'll bait you with this up front... this place is beautiful and special beyond words!!! At first, it just seems like any other attraction for the masses... you offload from the shuttle/bus, people point you where to go and wait for further instruction, and you comply and wait. Eventually someone hands you some paperwork to fill out... the normal risk-based legal waiver and names/signatures of the adults. Then we met our assigned tour guide, Imelda. From the first words she spoke, she was super professional, knowledgeable, and funny. You could tell she was very confident and was going to be very good. She quickly assessed our family group and made recommendations for gear and order of travel. She quickly picked up that it was the birthday of our 11 year-old nephew, Andy, and professionally recognized his need for particular assistance so that he would have a safe and enjoyable experience. She put Andy directly next to her and personally guided him through the cave tour. Andy had an atypical experience for him and was not intimidated at all... he enjoyed it TREMENDOUSLY! That allowed the whole family (10 of us) to richly enjoy the amazing experience. What a wonderful gift it was to the whole family, not just the birthday boy !!! Thank you Imelda!!! Okay, so it's wonderful to have a great tour guide like Imelda. Although that can make a tour experience much more pleasant, it can't, by itself, make a lesser place awesome. We'll, let me tell you, if you get Imelda and tour Rio Secreto with her, you just won the lottery!! This place has an absolutey extrordinary beauty!! I mean it is extrordinary beyond my ability to put into words. This is not the usual commercial tourist trap of cheaply assembled manmade structures that make you wet, or scream, or drunk, and you leave with the memory of a cheap thrill ir hangover. Although our time underground was only just over an hour, what you get to see in that time took 10's of thousands of years to make!!! It is such an incredible flood of beauty on your senses... sight, touch, smell, sound... it is just hard to take it all in. You can't recreate this. It can't be duplicated any other way by humans. From water that is absurdly clear and pleasant to be in, to the endless symphony of color and bizarre geometries, to the eerie spookiness of the travel of sound and light reverberating off endless spaces you dont even go into, to the extrordinary life forms you hopefully see like we did, to the piercing blanket of darkness in the "moment of reflection and thanks" (spoiler... we were given a wonderful and special opportunity to experience COMPLETE darkness while we made no sound as we all floated in a deep pool... wow... just freaking WOW!!!) and etc, etc. I will just simply apologize to those who read this... I simply cannot adequately describe in words what it is like to experience this place. It is one of coolest things I've ever experienced: it took thousands and thousands of years to make; holds such an amazing bio-niche of unique creatures and life; appeals to your deepest level of senses and fears; and to know the importance and relevance to the amazing Mayan people and their history and connection to these things... yeah, I will recommend to (almost) ANYONE I can. You will not be disappointed!! Why "almost" anyone, you ask??? Well, I will truthfully tell you my opinion that if you are someone who has difficulty walking on VERY eneven ground (especially when you can't clearly see your feet), or if you're badly clausterphobic (my wife is mildly but, she LOVED it!), or you have trouble with balance or walking very short distances bent over and crouching and twisting (especially simultaneously with the above) then this might be too much for you. Some of those things were challenges for some people in our group... BUT... I can tell you they experienced a great sense of personal victory in conquering their "perceived" limitations!! Truthfully though, I could see that someone who is not able to push through those things could find themselves in an unpleasant experience. Its just the reality of the undertaking, but the reward is MAGNIFICENT for those who can! :)

full marks for the nature and the professional guide. big fail on everything else. - super interesting and fun. our guide Omar is excellent. extremely knowledgeable about the whole geography of the caves and the yucatan land in general. history too. felt safe with him guiding the rappelling and walk through the wet caves. the dry cave is pretty interesting but the wet caves experience is really fun and special. with few moments where Omar ask us to switch off our lights and keep quiet to experience the sounds of nature. this is definitely an experience i will not forget. taking a couple of stars off for the incredibly outrageous photography sales. they don’t allow u to take ur phone or go pro in, maybe understandable for the wet caves, but absolutely do not understand any risk to the place for the dry cave, cycling and the rappelling. if you do the course, u will understand what i mean. then later quoted USD120 for several photos for 2 of us. a group of 9-10 pple also got the same pricing. like how is that fair pricing? group has much more photos than us. we had to wait a lot of times for them during the course to take their photos! then they obviously aren’t letting u get even 1 photo by quoting USD50 for 1 photo. and their tickets for the whole course is not cheap btw. anyway u know where i’m going. changing area is basic, food is just average. to be really blunt, u can actually just skip it and go back to playa for a better meal. so yes, full marks for the nature and professional guide, big fail on everything else esp on the photos. hope another better operator takes over that actually cares about customer experience from beginning to end instead of wholly profit driven. Omar saved the day for us.
